INFORMATION:
Following installation, there is one connection available in the center console storage bin to which any audio source can be connected via the AUX
interface (standard connection socket for 3.5-mm jack plugs). Playback is possible using the CD AUX button. The volume is adjusted on CDR 30.
All other functions must be controlled via the audio source.
For more information on operation and the various functions available, refer to the CDR operating instructions.

Work Procedure:
1. Preparatory work.

1.1 Connect a battery charger. -> Workshop Manual '2X00IN01 Battery trickle charging'
1.2 Remove CDR 30 car radio. -> Workshop Manual '91241900 Removing and installing car radio'
1.3 Remove center console cover. -> Workshop Manual '681919 Removing and installing cover for centre console'
1.4 Remove front air-conditioning system regulator. -> Workshop Manual '870219 Removing and installing front air-conditioning system
regulator'
1.5 Remove front ashtray. -> Workshop Manual '682019 Removing and installing front ashtray'
2. Cut the section where the cable is routed through the center console.
2.1 Remove rubber insert and tool for manual sunroof locking mechanism from the storage bin.
2.2 Cut the cut-out (along the perforation) -> Figure 4 -1- in the storage bin -> Figure 4 -2- using a suitable tool. Remove the cut-out and
smooth the edges of the storage bin.
3. Install wiring harness.
INFORMATION:
The illustration shows the routing of the auxiliary line on a vehicle with an air-conditioning line with mechanical control (I-no. 9AB) or
Climatonic (I-no. 9AD). There is no air duct -> -2- on vehicles with 4-zone air conditioning. The auxiliary line is routed in the same way as the
air-conditioning line with mechanical control or Climatonic.
3.1 Route the auxiliary line -> Figure 5 -1- (e.g. Tekalan line) in direction of arrow -> Figure 5 -arrow- on the right of the selector lever
support, towards the front.
3.2 Secure wiring harness to the auxiliary line.

3.3 Use the auxiliary line -> Figure 6 -1- to route the wiring harness -> Figure 6 -2- in direction of arrow through the center console.
3.4 Disconnect auxiliary line from wiring harness.
3.5 Route wiring harness -> Figure 7 -1- under the transverse bar -> Figure 7 -2- to the car radio installation slot.
3.6 Insert connector module D (coding: green) -> Figure 8 -1- into the central connector for the car radio -> Figure 8 -2-.

3.7 Secure wiring harness -> Figure 9 -1- to the transverse bar with a tie-wrap -> Figure 9 -2-.
3.8 Cut cable clamp off the supplied wiring harness.
3.9 Guide wiring harness -> Figure 10 -1- through the cut-out in the storage bin and secure to the center console with a new cable clamp ->
Figure 10 -2-.
3.10 Plug 3-pin connector into the console -> Figure 11 -arrow-.

3.11 Fit console Figure 12 -A- and secure with three screws (4.2 x 16) -> Figure 12 -B-.
3.12 Lay the remaining wiring harness -> Figure 13 -1- under the center console storage bin.
3.13 Place tool for manual sunroof locking mechanism in the console.
3.14 Place rubber insert Figure 14 -1- in the centre console storage bin.

- Fault entries in the control unit
- Coding in the control unit is aborted
- Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming
- Switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key before disconnecting the control unit.
- Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.
- Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least Nominal value 40 A to the vehicle battery.
4.5 Read out the fault memory of all systems, correct any existing faults, and erase the fault memory.
4.6 Activate the universal audio interface in the car radio.
