The Quality Is Simply Appaling

Living in a basically dry and warm climate, rust is just not a problem around here. But I hate to read another Rennlister's bad experiences. Rear door misalignment (another example of poor fit). The front of the driver's side rear door sticks out about 1 mm relative to the rear of the front. This was on top of my list to be discussed with the dealer, I was hugely surprised by it, and I didn't expect it would be a more common issue. I've noticed dust particles inside the car sometimes with all windows closed, could it be that there a small pocket of air open due to this? We noticed this defect in the paint a day after delivery. Turns out it was a peice of adhesive under the paint. I am used to panel gaps and rattles - we have two Teslas Ss and they are trully appalling.

I bet this happened at the port rather than at the factory. Paint repair is common at the port body shop as damage can happen during shipping. Do you know of any online or published sources for this remark about damage during shipping and paint repair "at the port body shop"? Do you know of any online or published sources for this remark about damage during shipping and paint repair "at the port body shop"? I live in Charleston, SC. Up until about 1990, Porsches were unloaded at the port here. They had a body shop next to the port that fixed Porsches damaged during shipping. I had a couple of friends that worked at the port and said it was fairly common for the cars to get damaged during shipping.

Receiving port performs any cosmetic repairs required prior to car hitting dealer. I don't think you can find out what it was if they indeed made repairs. No idea on frequency of port repair. We got the records from the Port - nothing repaired - we also tested paint thickness all around the car and close to the bubble - it was all consistent.

Before the dealer we took it to several body shops looked at it under several different lights - clear coat and Metallic paint was very even across the bubble. I couldnt agree more with all the rants, I have my 2019 Cayenne for a couple of weeks now and I am a bit disappointed. Fit, finish and some interior materials are subpar, my 2014 is miles ahead in this department. Its my wifes car now, she hardly notice all these details that are so evident to me. You guys are making me nervous. Hopefully these are just a couple of rare incidents. My 19 is coming into Jacksonville port on 4/9 and to my dealer on 4/19. I will certainly look it over closely before signing papers. I have now owned 4 Touaregs, 2 Q7s (2017&2018) and this will be my 2nd Cayenne. The reason I have stuck to this line is because of the build quality. I just looked at the Q7 and it is perfect. The body panels gaps are very narrow and all line up.
