Model year: as of 2009 up to 2011
Information
^ Document with limited validity
This Quick Information is valid until December 31, 2011
Vehicle Type:
Boxster/Cayman (987) model line
Carrera (997) model line
Cayenne (92A) model line
Panamera (970) model line
Concerns:
Highpressure fuel pump
Information:
We have discovered that the highpressure pump is increasingly being replaced, but in subsequent tests carried out by the manufacturer,
these highpressure pumps are found to be functioning correctly.
Due to various customer complaints, such as
^ engine start problems
^ reduced engine power
and the following fault memory entries in the DME control unit
^ P0190 Fuel highpressure sensor
^ P1030 Fuel highpressure sensor stuck
the highpressure pump is being replaced (complaints can vary and problems can occur independently of each other).
In most cases, the sensor of the highpressure pump is defective and is the cause of these complaints.
Action Required:
Diagnose the faults and work through the fault codes using "Guided Fault Finding" in PIWIS Tester II.
