Spare Parts Requirements for Set of Locks/Remote Control/Emergency Key (98/11)
Model year:
as of 2010
Vehicle Type:
Carrera (991) model line
Cayenne (92A) model line
Panamera model line
Concerns:
Set of locks, remote control and emergency key
Information:
Ordering and teaching a set of locks, replacement key or emergency key
Complaints have shown that more and more problems are occurring in the ordering process and teaching process for sets of locks and replacement
keys/emergency keys.
In compliance with anti-theft measures, the replacement of central locking system components is always documented. This means that the chassis
number must always be specified when ordering replacement parts.
Information
As soon as the ordering process for a new set of locks/remote control (hand-held transmitter) is active, no further teaching processes must be carried
out for the old set of locks/remote control in order to comply with safety regulations.
If this requirement is not met, the new set of locks/remote control will be blocked and can no longer be taught.
This work cannot be invoiced under warranty.
The new set of locks must be taught using the supplied remote control (hand-held transmitter).

Spare parts requirements for set of locks
The set of locks comprises the following components:
^ Lock mechanism (with mechanical components), --> Figure 1 -A- and
^ two remote controls (incl. emergency keys), --> Figure 1 -B-.
If a replacement set of locks is required, a new set of locks is made specifically for the vehicle and this then has to be adapted or taught to suit the
vehicle.
Spare parts requirements for remote control
The remote control or hand-held transmitter (--> Figure 2 -A-) consists of a transponder and a suitable emergency key. If a replacement remote
control is required, the remote control is coded for the vehicle prior to delivery.
If a replacement retaining eyelet and countersunk screw are required, these can be ordered from now on using the Parts Catalog (PET).
Information
We are receiving more and more complaints about broken retaining eyelets. The retaining eyelet can break if the key ring is too big.
Please inform your customers about this if necessary.
Spare parts requirements for emergency key
If a replacement emergency key is required ( --> Figure 2 -B-), this can be ordered from now on using the Parts Catalogue (PET).
