Diagnosis information - DME V8 DFI
Idle speed control
NOTE: The fault >Idle speed control< is detected when the DME control unit cannot set the specified idle speed for a certain amount of time.
Diagnostic conditions
- Cold start (catalytic converter heating phase)
- Engine idling > 20 s
- Vehicle not moving
- Engine not loaded
- Engine temperature > -10 °C (14 °F)
- No tank ventilation or tank ventilation diagnosis
- No secondary air diagnosis
- Altitude correction factor > 0.75 (altitude below 2450 m)
- No fault for speed signal, throttle potentiometer, engine temperature, intake air temperature, tank vent or tank ventilation system
Possible fault causes
- Leak in intake system
- Crankcase ventilation leak
- Throttle valve adjusting unit faulty
