Diagnosis information - DME (DFI)
Electrical fault, oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter, bank 1
NOTE:
- This fault indicates that the DME control unit has detected an implausible temperature range for the oxygen sensor.
Since lambda control is interrupted at this time, the DME control unit stores this fault as information. The more precise fault cause is stored as
a further P code.
- Do not use contact spray on the oxygen sensor's plug connections as this will result in irreparable damage to the lines (blockage of reference
air duct).
- Do not interchange the oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter with the sensor behind the catalytic converter as this will result in
implausible fault entries.

Diagnostic conditions
- Engine running > 30 seconds
- Exhaust temperature > 100 °C (212 °F)
- Oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter operational
- No overrun fuel shutoff
Possible fault causes
- Other electric oxygen sensor faults are stored in the fault memory
