Diagnostic conditions



- Vehicle is stationary



- Engine temperature 5 - 100 锟斤拷C (41 - 212 锟斤拷F)



- Intake air temperature 5 ... 60 锟斤拷C (41 ... 140 锟斤拷F)



- Battery positive voltage > 9 V



- Pedal value less than 5%



- Ignition off



- Then switch on ignition (> 30 seconds)



- Engine off



Possible fault causes



- Teaching not performed successfully because conditions not met

Ambient temperature via CAN (from instrument cluster)

- Ignition on > 5 seconds

- Missing or faulty message from instrument cluster

Time information via CAN missing



NOTE:



- The DME (DFI) control unit receives time information from the instrument cluster at regular intervals (approx. 4 sec.) when the ignition is on.



- The fault is detected if the time information remains unchanged for longer than 60 seconds.



Diagnostic conditions



- Engine running



- then switch off engine



- Then switch on ignition for > 70 seconds



- Instrument cluster ready for operation



- No detection of CAN fault



Possible fault causes



- Wrong software version in DME (DFI) control unit (e.g. US data for EU4 vehicle)



- Wrong software version in gateway



- Wrong software version in instrument cluster



- Instrument cluster faulty
