P0021

P0021

Diagnosis information - DME V8 DFI

Intake camshaft adjustment, bank 2

NOTE:

- A fault entry is made if the actual value deviates from the setpoint value by > 10 锟斤拷 camshaft angle or if adjustment takes place more slowly

than expected.

- An equalizing function for the camshaft of the other bank is already activated for small deviations.

- As a result of the equalizing function, a fault entry may be made for the other camshaft if this also deviates from the actual setpoint value by >

10 锟斤拷 camshaft angle.

Diagnostic conditions

- Perform a short test

or

- Vehicle voltage > 9 V

- Engine oil temperature -10 锟斤拷C ... 120 锟斤拷C (14 锟斤拷F ... 248 锟斤拷F)

- Engine speed 1,200 rpm ... 6,000 rpm

- No detection of fault P0010, P0020, P2088, P2089, P2092, P2093

Possible fault causes

- Solenoid hydraulic valve faulty

--> (e.g., mechanical fault or dirt in the oil circuit)

- Oil pressure too low

--> (e.g., due to oil dilution, oil thickening, wrong oil quality, fault in oil pressure control or oil pump)

- Intake camshaft adjuster faulty

- Camshaft stuck (incorrect or faulty installation)

P0030

Diagnosis information - DME V8 DFI

Driver for oxygen sensor heater ahead of catalytic converter, bank 1

NOTE: Do not use contact spray on the oxygen sensor plug connections, as this may cause irreparable damage to the wiring (blocking the reference

air channels).

NOTE: Do not confuse oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter and oxygen sensor behind catalytic converter as this will cause implausible fault

entries.

Diagnostic conditions

- Vehicle voltage > 9 V

- Engine running > 10 seconds

- Oxygen sensor heater ahead of catalytic converter active

Possible fault causes

- Short circuit to B+

- Short circuit to ground

- Open circuit in line

- Fuse FE 17 faulty (fuse carrier in plenum panel E-box)

- Loose contact in connector

- Oxygen sensor faulty

Affected contacts on the DME control unit connector
