2010 Porsche Cayenne S (9PA) V8-4.8L A L L Diagnostic Trouble Codes ( DTC ): P Code Charts Page 9
Possible fault causes
- Loose contact or corrosion on connectors or lines
- Short circuit to B+/ground/between lines or open circuit in the lines
- Oxygen sensor faulty
P0040
P0040
Diagnosis information - DME V8 DFI
Oxygen sensors ahead of catalytic converter interchanged
NOTE: Do not use contact spray on the oxygen sensor's plug connections as this will result in irreparable damage to the lines (blockage of
reference air duct).
NOTE: Do not interchange the oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter with the sensor behind the catalytic converter as this will result in
implausible fault entries.
Diagnostic conditions
- Lambda control active
- Driving with large and small valve travel
Possible fault causes
- Oxygen sensors ahead of catalytic converter interchanged
P0041
P0041
Diagnosis information - DME V8 DFI
Oxygen sensors behind catalytic converter interchanged
NOTE: Do not use contact spray on the oxygen sensor's plug connections as this will result in irreparable damage to the lines (blockage of
reference air duct).
NOTE: Do not interchange the oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter with the sensor behind the catalytic converter as this will result in
implausible fault entries.
NOTE:
During diagnostic procedures, the mixture on one bank is enriched briefly, while the mixture on the other bank is made more lean.
If the oxygen sensor behind the catalytic converter on the enriched bank indicates weakening and the oxygen sensor behind the catalytic converter on
the weakened bank indicates enrichment, then this fault is entered.
Diagnostic conditions
- Short test
or:
- Relatively long drive in various operating states
- Diagnosis >Electrical fault of oxygen sensor behind catalytic converter [or] Lambda correction behind catalytic converter< must have taken
place.
Possible fault causes
- Oxygen sensors behind catalytic converter interchanged (i.e. sensor of bank 1 is in exhaust branch of bank 2 and vice versa).
P0050
P0050
Diagnosis information - DME V8 DFI
Driver for oxygen sensor heater ahead of catalytic converter, bank 2
NOTE: Do not use contact spray on the oxygen sensor's plug connections as this will result in irreparable damage to the lines (blockage of
reference air duct).
NOTE: Do not interchange the oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter with the sensor behind the catalytic converter as this will result in
implausible fault entries.
Diagnostic conditions
- Vehicle voltage > 9 V
- Engine running > 10 seconds
