Diagnosis information - DME V8 DFI

Intake air temperature sensor: electric fault

NOTE:

- Only turbocharged engine:

The intake air temperature sensor is integrated in the boost pressure sensor.

- Only naturally-aspirated engine:

The intake air temperature sensor is integrated in the hot-film mass air flow sensor 1 (right).

NOTE:

- Only naturally-aspirated engines:

- Cross-exchange is possible because both hot-film mass air flow sensors including tubular piece are identical, but the intake air temperature

sensor is used only on the right.

- The hot-film mass air flow sensor must not be removed, but only interchanged complete with tubular piece.

Diagnostic conditions

- Engine running > 2 minutes

- Mass air flow < 150 kg/h

Possible fault causes

- Short circuit to B+ in signal line

- Short circuit to ground in signal line

- Open circuit in the signal line

- Short circuit or open circuit in power supply (naturally aspirated)

- Short circuit or open circuit in ground supply (Turbo)

- Intake air temperature sensor faulty

- Only naturally-aspirated engines:

- Affected contacts on the DME control unit connector:

- Connector [A] Contact 27

- Affected contacts on the hot-film mass air flow sensor 1 connector:

- Contact 1

- Contact 2

- Turbo only:

- Affected contacts on the DME control unit connector:

- Connector [B] contact 41

- Affected contacts on the boost pressure sensor connector:

- Contact 2

Intake air temperature sensor: electrical fault

NOTE:

In the case of the Turbo engine, the intake air temperature sensor is integrated in the boost pressure sensor.

In the case of the naturally-aspirated engine, the intake air temperature sensor is integrated in the hot film mass air flow meter 1 (right).

NOTE:

- Only naturally-aspirated engines:

Cross-exchange is possible because both hot-film mass air flow sensors including tubular piece are identical, but the intake air temperature

sensor is used only on the right.

NOTE: The hot-film mass air flow sensor must not be removed, but only interchanged complete with tubular piece.

Diagnostic conditions

- Vehicle voltage > 9 V

- Ignition on > 5 seconds
