NOTE: Do not use contact spray on the oxygen sensor's plug connections as this will result in irreparable damage to the lines (blockage of

reference air duct).

NOTE: Do not interchange the oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter with the sensor behind the catalytic converter as this will result in

implausible fault entries.

Diagnostic conditions

- Engine at operating temperature

- then drive for 2 minutes (incl. 1 overrun phase)

- Then engine idling > 30 seconds

Possible fault causes

- Open circuit in Nernst voltage

- Oxygen sensor faulty

Affected contacts on the DME control unit connector

Connector [A]:

- Contact 12

Affected contacts on oxygen sensor connector ahead of catalytic converter, bank 1:

- Contact 6

P2247

P2247

Diagnosis information - DME V8 DFI

Oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter, bank 2 - open circuit

NOTE: Do not use contact spray on the oxygen sensor's plug connections as this will result in irreparable damage to the lines (blockage of

reference air duct).

NOTE: Do not interchange the oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter with the sensor behind the catalytic converter as this will result in

implausible fault entries.

Affected contacts on oxygen sensor connector ahead of catalytic converter, bank 2:

- Contact 6

P2270

P2270

Diagnosis information - DME V8 DFI

Oxygen sensor downstream, bank 1 - signal too lean / rich

NOTE:

This fault is detected if the oxygen sensor signal upstream deviates by a certain value from the control value (rich/lean mixture) within a certain time.

Diagnosis is initiated by fault detection in the mixture control.

Diagnostic conditions

- II Relatively long drive in various operating states

- Diagnoses >Electrical fault of oxygen sensor downstream [or] Lambda correction downstream< must have taken place
