Fuel Injector, Cylinder 5 - Above Limit
Function
The coil of the fuel injector is supplied directly with B+ (battery voltage) on one side and with ground via an output stage in the DME control
module on the other side.
This DTC is used to monitor the ground trigger.
Short circuit to ground and open circuit are detected when the output stage is blocked, short to B+ when the output stage is conducting.
Diagnosis conditions
- Engine running
- Battery voltage greater than 7 V
P1218 - P1242
Wiring Diagram
NOTE:
- Short to B+ and open circuit cause the fuel injector to be continually closed.
- Short to ground causes the fuel injector to be permanently open.
