Diagnosis conditions
- ATF level OK
- Selector lever position 'D' or 'M'
- Test drive
Possible fault cause
- Engine speed > 7648 rpm
- No or incorrect rpm signals from the DME control module
- ATF level too low or too high
- Unpermissible downshifts of the transmission
- Hydraulic control unit is faulty
Diagnosis/troubleshooting
Danger of scalding by hot ATF.
Hot ATF can cause burns if it comes into contact with the skin or clothing.
- Drain ATF only when cold.
- Wear suitable protective clothing.
