Handling of Wheel Tire Assemblies



Following Accident Damage

Concern:



The handling of tire and wheel assemblies following accident damage.



Information:



When repairing Porsche vehicles following accident damage, the following requirements must be adhered to for safety reasons:



Wheels



^ Straightening and welding work on light alloy wheels is not permissible



^ Paint damage may be repaired; should the damage extend into the light alloy material, the wheel must be replaced



Tires



^ Repairs to Porsche approved N-Spec tires are not authorized.



For Vehicles With TPM - Tire Pressure Monitoring System



The complete valve with screw must be replaced in the following cases:



^ The wheel electronics are removed



^ The self-locking fastening screw is loose



^ The bead seat sealing ring is porous or damaged

^ The valve body is bent



^ The union nut is loose



The wheel electronics must be replaced in the following cases:



^ The housing is visibly deformed



^ The fitter surface (square, porous section on back of wheel electronics) is so badly soiled that it can no longer be cleaned by wiping



^ Tire sealant has been used



^ The service life of the battery has expired



^ There is a fault within the wheel electronics
