    Driver for oxygen sensor heater ahead of catalytic converter, bank 2


    NOTE: Do not use contact spray on the oxygen sensor's plug connections as this will result in irreparable damage to the lines (blockage of reference air duct).


    NOTE: Do not interchange the oxygen sensor ahead of catalytic converter with the sensor behind the catalytic converter as this will result in implausible fault entries.


    Diagnostic conditions

  • Battery positive voltage between 9 V and 16 V
  • Time after engine starts > 10 seconds
  • Oxygen sensor heater ahead of catalytic converter active

    Possible fault causes

  • Short circuit to B+
  • Short circuit to ground
  • Open circuit in line
  • Fuse FE 17 faulty (fuse carrier in plenum panel E-box)
  • Loose contact in connector
  • Oxygen sensor heater faulty
  • Oxygen sensor faulty

    Affected contacts on the DFI control unit connector
