  The faults are stored in the DFI control unit by the instrument cluster via the CAN drive. The oil temperature sensor and the oil level sensor are combined in one component.
  
  

  Diagnostic conditions

• Battery positive voltage between 10 V and 16 V
• Engine running
• Oil temperature between -50 °C and 170 °C (-58 °F and 338 °F)
  
  

  Possible fault causes

• Short circuit to B+
• Short circuit to ground
• Open circuit in line
• Fuse F11 in plenum panel E-box faulty
• Oil temperature sensor faulty
• Instrument cluster faulty
