    Diagnosis information - DME V6 DFI Fuel pump relay driver 2 (right)

    NOTE: When this fault is stored, the right-hand fuel pump is continuously activated.


    NOTE: Any stored faults of the fuel supply (oxygen sensing range [FRAO] and [FRAU]) could be a result of insufficient fuel supply at full load in one-pump operation.


    NOTE: Fuel pump 2 (right-hand) is activated briefly by the vehicle electrical system control unit when the driver's door is opened. A short circuit to B+ or ground can also be caused by a fault in this control line or in the vehicle electrical system control unit.


    Diagnostic conditions

  • Battery positive voltage > 10 V
  • Fuel tank level Less than 15 liters or Greater than 60 liters
  • Engine running > 10 seconds

    Possible fault causes

  • Short circuit to B+
  • Short circuit to ground
  • Open circuit in line
  • Fuse FE 13 faulty (fuse carrier in plenum panel E-box)
  • Fuel pump 2 relay faulty
  • Vehicle electrical system control unit faulty
