Aston Martin DB5: James Bond Car To Fetch Up To $6M At Auction

A fully restored version of the Aston Martin DB5, made famous by suave spy James Bond in the 1964 film "Goldfinger," is going up for auction. The car features 13 modifications, including two Browning .30 caliber machine guns. This particular vehicle is one of two built in 1965 for a US tour to promote "Thunderball," and has had just three owners in over 50 years. Barney Ruprecht, a car specialist at RM Sotheby's, said in a press release. RM Sotheby's will auction the car on 15 August. All of the Bond modifications are fully functioning following a full restoration, so the winning bidder will be able to make use of smoke screen dispensers, revolving license plates, and a passenger-seat ejection system. The car will be displayed in North America this summer, with dates and locations to be announced. In 2018 Aston Martin announced a limited run of 25 replica DB5s, kitted out with some of the same features as the Bond-modified model. 3.5 million), the replicas are aimed at wannabe secret agents with cash to burn.

Feast your eyes on what the upcoming S6 version will look like. Its Prologue Concept-like design features are further accentuated by the more aggressive front and rear bumpers. This prototype鈥檚 front spoiler is visibly more bulky, whereas the quad-pipes at the rear give the car away as a high performance model. What鈥檚 missing here is the S-specific razor-blade-like grille, as seen on the S5, and the faux-aluminum mirror caps. The new S6 is about as good as it gets within the all-new A6 range. However, if the more aggressive bumpers, bigger brakes and quad pipes don鈥檛 鈥渄o it鈥?for you, rest assured that in RS6 guise, the car will look even more muscular - it might even get wider fenders. We expect the cabin to feature a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel (S-Line) like in the new 55 TFSI version, an aluminum pedal set, sportier seats, carbon trim, special menus and various S6 badges. Other than that, drivers and occupants will get to enjoy the all-digital MMI touch response system, modern connectivity and driver assistance systems, ambient lighting and plenty more 2018-worthy goodies.

10.1 million settlement with the estate of the man driving the car that crashed and killed them both in 2013, her attorney said on Friday. Meadow Walker's attorney, Jeff Milam, said in a statement that the settlement would go into a trust for the teen. The settlement, reached in November 2014, went unnoticed for nearly a year and half because it was filed under "Meadow W.", according to celebrity news website TMZ, which first reported the story. Attorneys for Rodas' estate could not immediately be reached for comment. Walker's death at age 40 led to a lull in production of "Furious 7," the latest movie in the mega-hit action series about illegal street racing that propelled his career. 1.5 billion worldwide, making it among the highest-earning films of all time. Meadow Walker, the actor's only child and sole heir, filed the complaint against the German automaker last September, accusing it of skimping on safety features that could have prevented the crash or at least kept him alive. Porsche has maintained that the actor was responsible for his own death. After a four-month investigation, Los Angeles officials said the crash was caused by excessive speed, not mechanical failure.
