Mercedes-Benz G550 By Brabus

Mercedes-Benz G550 By Brabus

The timeless design and superior handling on arduous terrains of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class have made it a favorite among enthusiasts - and its classic shape and prestige have done the same for celebrities. Road Show International refers to the paint scheme as Desert Storm Satin. The shade is different than the Desert Sand offered by Mercedes in the new generation, and is joined by added additional LED lighting. By now, you might have noticed the Brabus wide body kit, which contributes to the special stance of this G550. The flashy red wheels, on the other hand, have come from Forgiato, and spoil the desert look. 鈥? according to the wheelmaker. For the interior of this previous-gen Mercedes-Benz G-Class, a combination of black and red leather, with diamond stitching, has been chosen. The premium material can be seen on the seats, door panels and floor mats, and has made the cabin 鈥渘othing short of supreme鈥? according to the tuner. The head-turning effect is definitely there, but whether it鈥檚 for the best is an entirely different story.

This is our first look at the facelifted Audi A5 Sportback, sporting revised styling and a range of infotainment updates. The new model is expected to make its debut at September鈥檚 Frankfurt Motor Show. Overall, the shape of the Audi A5 Sportback hasn鈥檛 changed, with the Sportback getting a fresh front bumper with wider air vents, new side skirts, an updated rear bumper, revised LED headlights, tweaked tail-lights and new squared-off exhaust exits. Inside, we鈥檙e expecting the VW Group鈥檚 12.3-inch digital instrument binnacle to become standard issue, in a bid to compete with the C-Class and 3 Series for interior technology. An 8.8-inch infotainment system, powered tailgate, touchscreen controlled climate control, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto will also likely feature. Audi鈥檚 new A5 Sportback will be powered by the firm鈥檚 latest range of 2.0-litre TFSI petrol and TDI diesel engines, with power ranging between 148bhp for the least powerful models and 242bhp for the range-topping all-wheel-drive quattro version. In all but the range-topper, a choice of either a six-speed manual or seven-speed S tronic gearbox will be offered. There鈥檚 also potential for Audi鈥檚 latest range of TFSI e hybrid powertrains to feature on the upcoming A5 Sportback, which should benefit fuel economy and performance. The updates will be carried across the Sportback, Coupe and Convertible range, and prices are likely to be in line with the current model, starting from around 拢35,000.

Porsche recently released it鈥檚 newest iteration of the Cayman/Boxster line, dubbed the 718. A major change from the previous 981 chassis cars is the introduction of turbocharged power plants. In the dyno graph above, the Red line represents the car in Normal mode. The Green line represents Sport Plus, and the Blue line represents the car being in Sport Plus with Sport Response activated. The main difference between the three modes is apparent in low-end torque. Boost does appear to ramp in quicker with Sport Plus selected, and again-so with Sport Response active. 2700RPM boost remains constant and relatively flat throughout a pull. While these torque numbers do indicate that Porsche may be a bit conservative with advertised power numbers, the most important data will be represented in gains from these baseline pulls. We are obviously very excited to dive into tuning on Stuttgart鈥檚 newest machinery and have high hopes for it鈥檚 potential. Stay tuned to the COBB Blog for updates!

With the BMW M4 GTS(with android 2 din car stereo), the Bavarian brand has finally developed a car that can go toe-to-toe with the brand new Porsche 911 GT3. The latter car has been the gold standard in track ready supercars for ages now and its newest generation is possible the best ever. It鈥檚 simply sensational. However, BMW鈥檚 new M4 GTS is a proper track monster as well and is said to able to genuinely take on Porsche鈥檚 masterpiece. So how do they actually compare on the track? Well, we get to find out in this video from Sport Auto. In this video, both the M4 GTS and 911 GT3 get put through their paces at Hockenheim Kleiner Kurs, the shorter version of the famous track. Both cars get a flying lap by the driver, with the BMW M4 GTS going first, followed by the 911 GT3. So let鈥檚 see how they do. From the get-go, in the M4 GTS, we can see the driver working hard. The M4 GTS is a twitchy beast that has a very sharp front end and will easily get its tail out. Its 493 hp water-injected 3.0 liter twin-turbocharged I6 engine sounds absolutely fantastic, as well. But we do notice that, while hard work, the M4 GTS seems to be a very accurate track car, as the driver clips apexes with precision and the back end rotates nicely and is controllable. It seems like a very fun and rewarding car to drive quickly. What about install an Car DVD? Next is the Porsche 911 GT3, everyone鈥檚 favorite track car, and it鈥檚 interesting to see how differently the two cars behave. While the GT3 seems noticeably less twitchy in the driver鈥檚 hands, it also seems to understeer quite a bit more.
