Porsche Customers To Pay 10% More If There's A No-deal Brexit

German sports car firm Porsche has written to customers to warn them that they might have to pay extra for their new cars after Brexit. A 10 per cent price increase would see an entry-level example of the all-new 992-generation 911 rise from 拢93,110 to 拢102,421 - you can read what the sports car is like to drive in our recent review. The cheapest model in the Porsche range, the 718 Cayman currently priced at 拢44,074, would rise to 拢48,481. The cheapest model in the Porsche range, the 718 Cayman (pictured) currently priced at 拢44,074, would rise to 拢48,481. The German car brand is just one that's part of the VW Group, which also consists of manufacturers including Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Bugatti, Bentley and Lamborghini. When contacted by Press Association, the company did not respond when asked if it is making similar preparations for the other car brands. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) also would not be drawn on the issue, saying it did not comment on the actions of individual car makers. Brexit supporters have dismissed fears over tariffs on imported cars, arguing that powerful German manufacturers would oppose such an obstacle to one of their biggest markets. But a string of bosses at British car makers have expressed fears about the risk of tariffs, which they say could disrupt production and exports.

45 Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in the car he shares with Joerg Bergmeister (Germany), while Wolf Henzler (Germany) put the Team Falken Tire Porsche in the second position, ahead of the factory Ferraris, BMWs and Corvettes. Henzler will share the Falken Porsche with Bryan Sellers (USA). The two-hour, 45-minute New England Grand Prix field will get the green flag Saturday, July 24, at 2:00 PM Eastern Daylight time, and will be telecast live in its entirety on SPEED TV. With our engine over the rear axle, the Porsche has an advantage in the rain over our competitors, and then our crew really nailed the setup, so it gave me all the right tools to go fast. When the conditions are this wet, there is always the potential to lock up the wheels under braking, so the difference for us was the performance of our Falken rain tires. Even though we were pleased with our time, we felt we could have gone even faster - maybe not fast enough for the pole, but faster - if the traffic was better.

Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled a prototype door which can automatically open as the driver approaches or be operated by gesture control. Dubbed the mobility door prototype, Jaguar Land Rover鈥檚 new technology combines motion sensors with existing keyless entry technology to detect a driver walking towards the vehicle before automatically opening the door. The British car manufacturer says the technology will prove especially important for disabled people that use a car as their main form of transport. Additionally, it will be useful for people carrying large items as the driver that don鈥檛 have a free hand to open the door. Much like a Rolls-Royce, Jaguar Land Rover鈥檚 mobility door prototype can be closed from the inside with the press of an overhead button. To ensure doors don鈥檛 randomly open into the path of obstacles, such as lamp posts, radar sensors have been fitted. Users can also configure the door to close and lock as they walk away. Of course, automatic opening doors like this aren鈥檛 a new technology. For example, Tesla owners have been enjoying similar technology for quite some time. Nevertheless, former Royal Marine Commando and triple amputee Mark Ormrod, says the technology will be very handy for people with disabilities. Jaguar Land Rover hasn鈥檛 said when it will introduce the technology to its production vehicles.

If you want to travel in the utmost luxury with the wind flowing through your hair your best option on four wheels is probably the 拢267,000 Rolls-Royce Dawn. That's until now, as Mercedes has waded into the fray with a new Maybach branded version of it's own S-Class Cabriolet. And surprise, surprise, the Maybach S 650 Cabriolet will cost from 鈧?00,000 - so around 拢260,000 - when it arrives in the UK in spring 2017, putting it into direct competition with the convertible Dawn. Mercedes took the wraps off the high-end convertible at last week's LA Auto Show, announcing that just 300 examples of the car were going to be built for the global market. This is therefore likely to be strictly a car for the rich and famous. It revives an old name made famous once again last decade, when Maybach made the most luxurious of limos for company executives, celebrities and diplomats. For fans of the brand with the three-pointed star, the Mercedes-Maybach might look a little familiar. That's because it's essentially a dressed up version of the 拢193,900 AMG S65 Cabriolet featuring the same 521bhp 6.0-litre V12 twin-turbo powerplant under the bonnet.
