Porsche Pops New 414-HP Flat-Six Into 2019 718 Cayman GT4, 718 Spyder
The range-topping models of the 2020 Porsche 718 Cayman and 718 Spyder are both getting a new engine 鈥?a 4.0-liter, naturally aspirated flat-six that produces 414 horsepower and 309 pounds-feet of torque. True to the brand鈥檚 roots, both models are only available with a six-speed manual transmission featuring downshift rev-matching 鈥?which can be turned off if you want to do your own throttle blipping. Another nifty feature is Porsche Active Suspension Management with adaptive damping and a 1.18-inch lower ride height than other 718 models. Camber, toe, ride height and anti-roll bar settings are all manually adjustable, bringing the worlds of Gran Turismo and Forza into real life. Both cars have standard brakes adapted from the 911 GT3, and carbon-ceramic brakes are 鈥?of course 鈥?optional. A mechanical limited-slip differential is also standard. Both models get updated exterior looks and feature a front lip spoiler with a debossed model designation, an air outlet in front of the front trunk, a new rear diffuser to reduce lift and tinted taillights.
The soft-top for the 718 Spyder is manual for weight savings and can be optioned as a two-tone red-and-black top in honor of historic Porsche racecars. The 718 Spyder also has a unique, automatically extending rear spoiler. The hardtop Cayman GT4鈥檚 side air intakes have additional side blades now, and the model鈥檚 giant rear wing is manually adjustable. Inside both cars, there鈥檚 Alcantara faux suede everywhere, as befits two hardcore track-focused cars. The shifter in both has shorter throws than standard 718 models, and driver and passenger each get standard Porsche Sport Seats Plus. Full bucket seats or 18-way power sport seats are optional. Unlike hardcore Porsche models of the past, climate control and multimedia systems are standard instead of optional. A two-tone leather trim is optional on the 718 Spyder, and the Spyder also has exterior-paint-colored cabin trim pieces instead of the Cayman GT4鈥檚 brushed aluminum. Yes, there were different lengths and part numbers. 400) worth of parts is a problem? 100 is a problem if it doesn't fix the issue. Then it is just a waste. But P1117 just came back - 2yrs later. No. It simply suggests the fault is not a solid fault and after enough engine start/warm up cycles.. I normally would get codes 1275 and 0133 together. I thought you were gonna close the site. Lol. I have two of the long sleeve UV resistant shirts I use when golfing. Plain rotors are fine, too. So I take it, it鈥檚 also not a good idea to wash wheels if rotors are hot? That鈥檚 a premier, as the hard-top version has been priced higher than the roadster historically. The pricing is now similar to the 911 range, which begins with the coupe as the most affordable model. 53,900, you鈥檒l get to take home the non-S variant equipped with the manual transmission. 2,100 cheaper than a Boxster S with the same specifications. In 2015, Audi rolled out a brand-new TT to rival the current-generation Cayman. The German coupe is available in two gasoline-powered guises, both motivated by the proven 2.0-liter TFSI engine. The base version has 230 ponies, while the more powerful iteration comes with 310 horses on tap. Naturally, the standard TT will be joined by a TTS and a range-topping TT-RS version. Both feature updated engines, with the TT-RS benefiting from a turbo, 2.5-liter, inline-five rated at 400 horsepower, just about enough to go against the top-of-the-line version of the Cayman.
