2019 Porsche 911 Information

SARDINIA, Italy 鈥?As 21st-century Porsche 911s go, few hit peak analog quite so completely as the GT3 Touring. Free-breathing, naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six? 146,350 coupe was a laser-focused answer to the nagging question enthusiasts couldn't stop asking. And on its heels, Porsche has 鈥?for the first time 鈥?dropped the top on a GT-based car: the 2019 911 Speedster. 275,750. There is, admittedly, a whole lot of goodness to the new Speedster's underpinnings. The 502-horsepower, 346-pound-feet powerplant paired with the lightweight, steel syncro-equipped six-speed is perhaps the last of its breed, as its naturally-aspirated flat-six with individual throttle bodies inherited from the 911 GT3 R race car. Slideshow-1042492% The GT3 models' high-spec suspension and drivetrain bits are also here, though the damping rates are slightly more forgiving and ride height increases by 5 millimeters. The carbon ceramic stoppers also have slightly softer compounds for easier modulation 鈥?all of which can be attributed to the Speedster's status as more of a pleasure-focused road car than a truly all-out racetrack special.

But don't let the milder-mannered bits fool you: Along Sardinia's winding country backroads, which are convincing impersonations of S-curves on technical race circuits, the Speedster feels like it's directly plugged into the driver's brain. The controls are relatively simple: a button-free steering wheel, a shortened shift lever, and a three-pedal setup that incorporates an auto-blip downshift option available through a button on the center console. If you want to improve the looks and function of your Porsche wheels, Porsche rims are a popular add-on for you. Safety is of course a concern for drivers, especially where wheels and tires are involved. So the question of whether aftermarket Porsche rims are safe or not has become a serious concern for many drivers. From a technical standpoint, aftermarket Porsche rims are completely safe. This wasn't always the case, but as with all wheels and related parts, all aftermarket Porsche rims sold in the United States are subject to the standards and regulations of the NHTSA. This ensures that important aspects of Porsche rims that could affect the overall safety of a vehicle are held to a high standard. The materials in aftermarket Porsche rims are heavily regulated, as are the manufacturing processes used to bring them to the market. Testing is done to ensure good quality control. Since many aftermarket companies that market to Porsche owners pride themselves on the quality of their products, they also do a good amount of self-regulation.

Good materials are essential for providing the type of performance that Porsche owners expect, especially considering that Porsche rims are held to a higher standard by drivers compared to other non-luxury vehicle rims. Regardless of the size, material, or weight of Porsche rims, they're always going to be safe if they're sold legally in the United States. As is the case with any rims, there are a few considerations to make when purchasing aftermarket Porsche rims. It's important to purchase rims that are properly designed for a certain model and which won't overburden a vehicle, changing its handling for the worse and potentially endangering or at least annoying the driver. Most dealers that sell aftermarket Porsche rims will provide a list of models, including year of manufacture in most cases, that will work with their rims. Apart from this, though, there are really no serious safety problems that could result from using aftermarket Porsche rims. Contrary to the belief of some drivers, aftermarket Porsche rims are made by companies that are simply unable to offer their products if they're not able to guarantee a certain standard of safety. This is good news for consumers, of course, especially since aftermarket Porsche wheels are so much less expensive than the official Porsche rims that come from the company itself. Aftermarket Porsche rims are so popular with drivers as they provide excellent performance and in the end, that's what makes them a safe, smart choice for all Porsche drivers.

Layered in rich history the 鈥淩S鈥?moniker has always been reserved for Porsche鈥檚 best. Taking the best and evolving it forward, the 991.2 GT3 RS is a tour de force in the modern sports car world. Titanium, magnesium, carbon fiber, and aluminum all make an appearance for strength and weight savings on this highly focused machine. The RS lineage began with the 1973 Carrera RS, and has evolved through the years bringing us tremendous driver focused cars. Jumping to the water-cooled variants, the 996 GT3 RS was a track focused machine that was not sold in the USA. The 997 GT3 RS continued the use of lightweight materials in the search of lower lap times and was universally heralded as an exceptional driver鈥檚 car. The 991 chassis GT3 RS was introduced in the US for the 2016 model year, and quickly sold out to worldwide fanfare. As a follow up, Porsche had to deliver an amazing result with the 2019 991.2 car, and as the motoring press and numerous clients have confirmed - Porsche delivered. What most expected to be a 鈥渇acelift鈥?or half evolution car, seemingly has delivered a full evolutionary cycle in just three short years.
