Porsche 911 GT3 RS Looks The Part With Factory Gold-Painted Wheels

It was only a couple of days ago when Porsche through its bespoke division unveiled a high specification of the Panamera Turbo finished in Crayon and now another special creation is ready to be your next wallpaper. While Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur usually shares images with the more practical four-door models (Macan, Cayenne, Panamera), today we鈥檙e able to admire a fancy 911 in the track-oriented GT3 RS guise. Inside, there are several yellow accents to continue the exterior鈥檚 theme. There鈥檚 yellow stitching on the seats, steering wheel, dashboard, and also on the central armrest further beautified by the subtle Porsche crest. The headrests have also been spruced up with a yellow finish for the 鈥淕T3 RS鈥?logo and you鈥檒l find more yellow on the seatbelts. Those with an affinity for glitzy 911s surely remember the limited-edition Turbo S Exclusive Series (pictured above) dipped in a model-exclusive burnished-gold paint and fitted with an industry-first braided carbon fiber wheels.

The Porsche 911 GT3 is not the most overt sports car out there, but the following example registered in Texas is bound to turn just as many heads as any Ferrari, Lamborghini, or McLaren. This particular 911 GT3 was recently modified by the guys over at ADV.1 Wheels and fitted with a pair of wheels dubbed the ADV5.0 Track Spec CS Series. The rims have an eye-catching design but, unfortunately, we don鈥檛 think they suit the Porsche very well as the gold finish clashes with the Acid Green paint. Throw on a set of silver or black wheels and this could easily be one of the most stylish 911s on U.S. A look at the 911 GT3 configurator will tell you that the German sports car isn鈥檛 offered as standard with Acid Green, meaning buyers have to go through the company鈥檚 Paint to Sample program to select this color. This is not the first one we鈥檝e seen, but there probably aren鈥檛 that many in existence. This hue is significantly brighter than any other green we鈥檝e seen offered from other exotic car manufacturers, including Lamborghini - and that鈥檚 quite a feat. Back in 2016, your truly happened to come across one of just two Acid Green Porsche 918 Spyders on Earth and can confirm that capturing the color accurately on a camera is virtually impossible. These images do give you quite a good idea of what it looks like in person, though. We would argue that the current GT3 is the most driver-focused 911 currently on sale, alongside the new Speedster. Sure, the GT3 RS may be lighter, more powerful and faster, but it cannot be purchased with a six-speed manual transmission, which robs it that final level of ultimate driver connection.

A lot of the current release of these cars have a quiet or nice neighbor mode that will start the car with the flaps closed. My 350 R didn't, so it was a glorious and annoying cold start. Lambo or anything, but there are a whole lot of cars between BRZ/STI and the end of the line. You got a lot of choices and some of them don't need to break the bank. Take your time and think about what you want out of your next car, see what cars tick all those boxes, and try them all! It's your money so you shouldn't feel bad about finding the perfect fit for you. One thing that also helped me narrow down my choices was the community around the cars. There isn't really a big community around R8's, but there is a big Porsche/Lambo/AMG community and they're always doing meetups, drives, etc. That stuff doesn't have a monetary value but it worth something to me.

As everyone knows, the incomes of artists--even well-known ones--can be slender. Given the toxic expenses of Manhattan, I decided that it would be wise to augment my storytelling work with an additional source of revenue. Toward that end, I decided in the late nineties to create a small company that sold magnets bearing inspirational quotes from poets, writers, and philosophers. But while I quickly learned that I had little appetite for the design and manufacture of tchotchkes, I thoroughly enjoyed naming my products. Intrigued, I set out to discover how the world's goods and services were named. To my surprise, I found an entire industry devoted to this task. Furthermore, it was an industry that welcomed the skills of poets, writers, and linguists. Besides a love for language, good namers must be insatiably curious; they must be interested in everything--whether it is the "build" of a hamburger or the intricate technology used to remove damaged leads from pacemakers. And while company founders can create great names--Virgin Atlantic, for instance--they are generally one-hit wonders. Naming professionals, meanwhile, are called on to develop hundreds of possible candidates for an enormous range of projects. Like the array of forms in Lewis Turco's The Book of Forms: A Handbook of Poetics, brand names come in a variety of styles. Namers must also be able to play to prevailing social, economic, and political trends while simultaneously looking years ahead.

This 2001 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over Black full leather and has 65k miles. Optioned from factory with a twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six routing power to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transaxle and was factory-rated at 415 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 415 lb-ft of torque between 2,700 and 4,600 rpm. Noted modifications include a Fabspeed exhaust system, Agency Power driverter valves and hose kit, tinted windows, and an Alpine head unit, and more. Recent maintenance included the installation of a new upgraded clutch and flywheel, servicing of the AC system, new brakes all the way around, and front wheel bearings. This 996 Turbo is now offered with the original window sticker, service records since new, two keys, factory books, a clean Carfax report, and a clear title. The Arctic Silver paint shows very well throughout the car. A recent respray of the bumpers and roof was done professional to correct some rockchips and scratches. Only a few minor imperfections remain on the hood and passenger front fender but can only been scene from up close. No accidents or other damage are shown on the included Carfax report.
