This Is A Non-S Boxster

This Is A Non-S Boxster

I had been posting lots of PROJECT:M lately and I think is time to give it a break before I announce my next plan. I also have yet to review the newly completed I.C.E in Project:M. Today I would like to talk about Porsche, yes, Porsche Boxster 987 Gen.I to be precise. My friend recently just borrowed this 2007 Porsche Boxster 987 Gen.I you see here. His boss was kind enough to loan him a Porsche for a few days because his car was in the workshop(What a boss!). This is a non-S Boxster, which means it is equipped with a 2.7litre Boxer engine(241hp). I took it out for a spin at around Kiulap area to check the differences between GEN.I and my GEN.II model. Nothing much to complaint about except it has a slower engine compare to my S model. With the optional TipTronic the engine struggle to rev at low RPM. But I do like the engine noise coming into the cabin. In fact it is louder then my 3.4l engine! Handling wise it is basically the same as a S model.

The Racer鈥檚 Group is set to make a full-season return to racing, with a multi-car program in the works for SRO鈥檚 GT4 America championship according to team principal Kevin Buckler. The California-based team, which has made selected Pirelli World Challenge starts in both GT and GTS competition this year, will focus efforts around Porsche鈥檚 new-for-2019 Cayman GT4 Clubsport. Buckler said they鈥檝e placed orders for two of the yet-to-be-launched Porsches, with one set to run in GT4 America SprintX and another planned for the new GT4 America West regional series. Driver lineups have yet to be confirmed although Buckler indicated that both Derek DeBoer and Sean Gibbons, the team鈥檚 two 2018 SprintX drivers, will likely be part of the mix. 鈥淲e鈥檙e planning to do two cars in PWC,鈥?Buckler told Sportscar365. The longtime Porsche entrant is among the first that will take delivery of the new-generation car in early January, with TRG planning to field at least one entry in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season-opener at Daytona later that month. Buckler indicated the team will focus its 2019 efforts around the German manufacturer鈥檚 new GT4 offering, which has already completed extensive testing and development in both Europe and North America. 鈥淚鈥檝e been racing Porsches for so long. I guarantee they鈥檙e going to come with a good piece,鈥?he said. 鈥淎nd the good racing is in GT4. I鈥檓 doing with the winery, which is a big deal. It鈥檚 like running three GTD teams. Buckler said the facility, located in the downtown waterfront district, will include a motorsports museum featuring TRG鈥檚 cars. John Dagys is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Sportscar365 as well as the recently launched e-racing365 Web site for electric racing.
