What Are Your Thoughts On The Design?

The Lamborghini Toro LA 690-4 Concept car is designed to compete with the long-awaited Lexus LFA and Aston Martin One-77 supercars. Lamborghini Toro LA 690-4 Concept car is a front-engined supercar, The Toro LA 690-4 Concept would be powered by a 690 horsepower V12 sitting in front, as I already explained, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The body, made from carbon fiber and magnesium would help the front-engined Lambo shed weight down to only 3,300 lbs. According to the creator of the Toro, this Lambo would also employ 鈥淓co鈥?fuel-saving techniques such as a direct injection engine capable of running both gasoline and biofuel, as well as a cylinder deactivation feature. We must say the looks aren鈥檛 a true Lamborghini-styled design. The long nose with its negative angle and short back aren鈥檛 really design influences we see in current Lamborghini designs. The pictures show a LF-A look-a-like with some decent Lamborghini influences from current production and concept models. What are your thoughts on the design?

The car's styling highlights include the hexagon grille with spread wings in the center, 鈥渉awk eye鈥?headlights and bulged wheel arches, with the latter being a reference to all-wheel drive capability. The new Impreza's interior appears to be inspired by German cars, with ergonomically placed controls and a classic setup. The three-spoke steering wheel and the round speedometer and rev counter add a hint of sportiness, but nothing to get excited about. Subaru didn't offer any details on pricing and launch dates. Exterior highlights include a protective armor of plastic add-ons around the wheel arches, side sills and on the lower part of the front and rear bumpers, along with large roof rails and splats of metallic trim here and there. The five-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels shod in 245/45 ZR19 tires complete the look. As for the interior, the XV Concept gets a two-tone color theme with white leather seats and black plastics elsewhere. There鈥檚 also a panoramic glass roof that extends from the front windscreen all the way to the rear, while Subaru fitted the XV with a futuristic touch-panel multi-information display in the center console.

This odd-looking creation is the AM01 and it鈥檚 the work of a Dutch company named Isis Cars that is led by Anton van Nunen and Max Alting Siberg. In an even stranger twist, the AM01 is based on another coachbuilt sports car from the Netherlands called the Saker. Underneath the composite body shell lies a 2.0-liter turbocharged boxer engine sourced from a Subaru Impreza WRX STI. The four-cylinder unit churns out 275HP and a peak torque of 350 Nm (258 lb-ft), with power being transferred to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. 174,000 at the current exchange rates. At last year鈥檚 LA Auto Show, Subaru unveiled an impressive concept for the new Impreza hinting at the production model that would follow. In addition to the power kit, Subaru also offers a Pioneer navigation system with touch-screen capability, Bluetooth and iPod connection fitted as standard. Subaru鈥檚 offer for the STI runs from April 1 until June 31 and is available on both the 4 and 5 door variants.

In today鈥檚 day and age, a good value for money, fun to drive, reasonable and practically made sports cars are a rarity. Finding a roadster which scores well on all the above-mentioned aspects is like finding a needle in a hay stack! Mazda seem to have just the car that fits the bill - Mazda MX-5. The MX-5 has a conventional roadster body with sleek curves and is certainly a head turner while on the road. The MX-5 is based on the Jinba Ittai design language used by Mazda across all 4 generations of the MX-5. Jinba Ittai refers to 鈥榬ider and horse as one body鈥?this simply means creating a compact car with great driving dynamics, at the same time also meeting global safety standards. The MX-5 is a rear-wheel drive, front engine roadster with the very crucial 50:50 front & rear weight distribution. This gives the MX-5 a very good balance and excellent driving dynamics.
