Ladies and gentlemen Porschephiles, the time has come for owners of the 2019 911 GT3 RS to take delivery of their beasts and we've brought along a fresh example of this. The 911.2-generation Rennsport Neunelfer we have here looks like it has "the devil is in the details" written all over it. For starters, the car is dressed in black, while missing extreme options like the Weissach Package and the magnesium wheels. Then again, we can't say this Porscha lacks expensive optional goodies, since it comes with banana calipers (the yellow stoppers indicate the presence of Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes) and all-LED headlights, whose black inner graphics match the car. We must mention the colored bits on the car, with these being finished in Lizard Green, which was the launch color for the car. As far as the exterior is concerned, these involve the wheel lips, but the cabin has more to offer. To be more precise, the roll cage and the headrest embroidery on the full bucket seats come in the said shade of green. We kicked off this tale by mentioning customer deliveries for the 520 hp Neunelfer and we also have to tell you that the thing recently landed in Poland - pixel tip to Autogespot for these images. The only model in the Neunelfer lineup that's quicker is the 911 GT2 RS, with its 6:47 chronograph number. However, this no longer holds the production car lap record, with the accolade having been grabbed by the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. The Sant'Agata Bolognese machine needs just 6:44.9 to get round the track, as we found out earlier this week. For the record, here's a Ring comparo involving the Superveloce Jota and the Rennsport Neunelfer.
One may never be able to extract its full potential but a snore fest it isn't. Try coming up with a different description. You can say this about any car. I actually disagree though, I love driving my GT3 manual. It isn't nearly as fast as my other car but it is a freaking blast. I definitely take the long routes now to my destination. I can't get enough of this thing. I don't know how anyone can possibly drive a GT3 and call it a snore fest on any roads unless you're trapped in 25mph residential zones, in which case every car is going to suck. GT3 and an M2 because omgitssorare. I live in a major city and see a GT3 or RS maybe once a month driving around. Even so, who cares? I don't drive cars because they're s00pa r4r3. Airbag, I get what you are saying somewhat.
While I dont think the 991 gt3 (esp in manual) is a bore on street, you cant appreciate everything it has to offer until you take it on the track. At the same time, you cant appreciate all that the 991 gt3 is if you just purely trailer it to a track as a pure track car. For me, the true brilliance of the 991 gt3 is its ability to be a fun street toy (esp in manual), functional street car and capable track weapon. In my opinion, the 991 gt3 is unrivaled in its ability to be all three things. 600LT, AMG GTR or any other track focused sports/super car. I have somewhat of a unique perspective on this because I went directly from a 991S to a 991 GT3. After moving to CA, I held on to my 991S because I wasnt sure what type of driving I would find myself doing and whether or not a GT car would make any sense. My concern was that it would have too much power for these roads.
I can absolutely get the GT3 to 聯dance聰 on the roads out here and we arent talking close to triple digits. The GT3 is a far more visceral experience than the 991S in every way. But I would agree that if you live the flat farm lands of the Midwest with nothing but straight roads for miles, there are better choices. However, there is a reason that every other car you see in the canyon roads on an early weekend morning is some sort GT variant. I owned a C2S. Loved it but even whe driving a slow speed the GT3 is so much better that I would only ever go back due to budget. Even at legal speeds the sound and feel of the car is way more entertaining than a standard Carrera. I am not knocking a C2S. It is an amazing car and I loved it but other that long trip comfort the GT3 is better car by a wide margin.
