2019 Porsche 996 Turbo

This is very rare example of a super clean and well maintained 996 Turbo that has been kept ALL Original. This 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo was sold new by New Country Porsche of Greenwich, CT where it received Carfax registered regular service until the end of 2005 at 46,640 miles. The coupe was purchased by the 2nd owner in 2005 and relocated to California before eventually moving to Miami, Florida in 2018 by the current owner. This 996 Turbo is sold with the original factory manuals, a DME report, a clean Carfax, and a clean Florida title. The all original Arctic Silver Metallic (L92U) paint maintains a high shine that is shown from several angles in the gallery below. Paint meter readings show factory spec readings of 4.5 - 5.5 throughout the car. Overall the car is free of rust or any blemishes except for a small 2 inch surface scratch on the rear driver's side. The car has been fitted with a clear protective bra but some small some rock chips can be seen on the front bumper.

Long time BMW CCA member and PCA member and second long-term owner of this car. Purchased this 2001 996 Turbo in December 2013 after the original owner traded it into New Country Porsche in CT for a new Panamera. Nice build with large leather/full leather package in black with grey stitching with an aluminum ebrake handle and shifter. Clean Carfax, Porsche dealer serviced since new (I have records since 2010) and maintenance is all up-to-date, even the 30k service is done. Garage kept, never driven when salt on roads or when temps have been below 45 degrees. Few small rock chips on the front end, only visible from within 3 feet. Original manuals, spare tire, tools and two transponder keys are available for the next owner. Build sheet attached, options include 982 (supple leather), E70 (leather package, large), P14 (heated seats), XMZ (center console in leather), Y23 (Aluminum shifter and ebrake handle). Car is in Princeton, NJ.

Porsche is smart. See, just over a year ago, a certain Italian-American automaker decided to stick 75 percent of a Ferrari V8, God's own power steering system, and a fantastic suspension into a beautiful body. The result was the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, arguably the most entertaining crossover SUV on the planet. But the Stelvio has a secret: It's a lousy daily driver. It's loud, too firm, the brake pedal is terrible, and reliability problems persist for the Italian brand (allegedly). So rather than pivot to performance in pursuit of the Stelvio, the 2019 Porsche Macan balances itself out. It remains just as charming on a winding road but is now far better in everyday driving. What was once an overeager crossover is now smarter, more comfortable, and far better balanced - all things that luxury shoppers want. But it's also sharper and more powerful, thanks to a new engine.

And for those reasons, Porsche's entry-level vehicle is more appealing than ever. The Macan's newfound balance starts with its ride/handling poise. 2,750 air suspension - switched between aggressive and relaxed with ease. Aside from the Macan simply being too large for the roads (it will fit in perfectly on America's wide lanes), it never put a foot wrong. The air-suspension controls body motions well, so that when you apply angle to the tight, direct steering, the Macan feels as poised and dynamic as anything this side of an Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio. But the Macan doesn't take a madman to drive daily. This is down to changes Porsche made to address criticism of the original Macan being too focused on performance. The steel suspension components are now aluminum, reducing unsprung weight by 3.3 pounds. It sounds modest, but any reduction in unsprung weight is a good one. Along with revised suspension geometry and new shock absorber hydraulics, the new Macan鈥檚 suspension readily shrugs off potholes.
