New Porsche 911 GT3 RS Specifications Revealed

The specifications of 911 GT3 RS have finally hit the web world. The entire world had hit a tizzy when the 991 GT3 RS had shockingly surfaced on the web. Now it is clear why it was so because it is almost identical to what had been said. Now, once the specifications have been revealed, it comes to the knowledge that the new model is undoubtedly, a mean machine, even by the standards of a Porsche RS. The car is powered by a 4.0 litre mill, which is capable of producing 500 hp and a torque of 460 Nm. Mated with a seven-speed PDK gearbox, the car comes with a manual transmission. It will also come with a Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) system with electronically-controlled rear differential lock and a full variable torque split. The RS is slightly wider at 50 mm at the front and 30 mm in the back as compared to the 911 GT3. Made from aluminium along with steel composite rear lid, full bucket seats, rear wing are manufactured from carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP). Side air intakes are identical as the Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S, which will provide additional cooling. Power is six-piston front and four-piston rear aluminium clippers, which are sufficient to keep the car in control. Porsche is expected to reveal the 911 GT3 RS car at the Geneva Motor Show. However, it might hold back the car till September to keep the Cayman GT4 in contention.

The 991 is so stiff, that raising the rear jack point raises the front at the same time! Make sure to position the jack stand so that you can lower the car onto the stand. This means I have to raise the car a bit more to clear the top of the stand with the puck in place. Once the stand is in place, slowly lower the floor jack so that the front jack pad comes to rest on the stand. Once you are sure that the jack stand is placed perfectly, lower the car until the floor jack is all the way lowered. Lift until you can clear the top of the stand. If all you needed was to get the front up, you are now in business! Similar steps to those above, but start with the floor jack under the forward or front side jack point and place the jack stand under the rear jack pad once the car is up high enough.

Once you lower on the stand, move to the other side and repeat. You should have the rear up on stands easily. This is a bit "trickier" but very simple and very similar to what you've just learned to raise one or the other end. First, raise the front end of the car onto jack stands as described in the first method above. Now, there are two methods of getting the rear raised high enough to put your jack stands in place. I'll describe both here -- and tell you that honestly I used to use the first method almost exclusively, until I gave the second method a try and realized how much time it saved me! Method 1: Place your floor jack/lift in FRONT of the rear wheel jack point/pad just enough so that you can place a jack stand under the pad once you lift the rear. You can place right on the pinch weld, just put a hockey puck or something on your floor jack plate so you don't bend the weld.

I use a puck, and it doesn't bend the pinch weld at all. Slowly lift the rear with your floor jack, place the jack stand, and lower. You now have three corners up, and need to get the fourth up! Don't worry - the weight of the car will keep it on the other two floor jacks, and if you placed them correctly the stands won't move at all. Method 2: Go to the rear of your car, get down and move your jack so that the jack pad is just under the rear cross-member. Also you should be in the center of the cross-member. Be absolutely sure that your floor jack is in the right position -- you DO NOT want to place it in the wrong spot and risk damaging anything! Now raise your jack, and both rear wheels should be off the ground, supported in the center by your floor jack. You can then place your jack stands and lower onto them. I've added a picture below that illustrates where to place your floor jack plate. Move your low-profile floor jack under the car from the rear, and position the pad directly in the center of the cross-member. Begin raising the car. Begin raising. Make sure your floor jack handle doesn't bang against rear bumper! You may need to add some boards or other materials to get the car up high enough if the floor jack you're using doesn't have high enough lift. As noted above, once you have the car up and slid the jack stands into place, you can slowly lower the floor jack, leaving the car resting on the jack stands. 2 above for raising rear is that if done properly this is a more stable method when you have the front of the car already up on jack stands.

This new teaser image suggests Aston Martin鈥檚 Project 003, which called be called Valhalla, will adopt a mid-engined supercar layout, with high-exit exhausts and an active rear spoiler. Previous sketches and teaser images also hint that it will feature a jet-fighter-style canopy, with Aston Martin promising improved practicality over the Valkyrie. It鈥檚 likely that the British brand will debut a near-to-production version of the Project 003 at this year鈥檚 Geneva Motor Show. It will share the stage with new Valkyrie Pro and a new SUV from Aston Martin鈥檚 all-electric spin-off brand, Lagonda. Should Aston鈥檚 recent trademark applications be believed, its new supercar will be called the Valhalla, marking its position below the Valkyrie. Both cars鈥?names are borrowed from Norse mythology, and both are part of strict hierarchy. Supposedly, Valhalla is the resting place of souls deemed worthy of the god Odin鈥檚 company, while Valkyries are the warrior spirits who police it. Project 003 will be built around a lightweight structure and powered by an all-new turbocharged petrol-hybrid V6 engine. Aston Martin has previously confirmed that the hybrid powertrain will be a KERS system, rather than an efficiency-focused range-extending system, focusing on performance rather than economy. Speaking exclusively to Auto Express, Aston boss Andy Palmer revealed that car is an additional part of his seven-year plan. 鈥淚t falls into the category of a 鈥榮pecial鈥?鈥?Palmer told us. The 003 is the latest in a long line of new models being developed by Aston. The next big launch from the British firm is its first SUV, while the Project 003 will follow shortly after Aston鈥檚 AM9 Ferrari 488 competitor.
