In developing the Divo, Bugatti wanted to create a super sports car with a different character from the Chiron which would still be immediately recognizable as a Bugatti. The aerodynamics of the model have been intensively fine-tuned and the suspension and chassis settings have been modified. As a result, the Divo is 35 kilograms lighter and has 90 kilograms more downforce than the standard Chiron. The lateral acceleration of the Divo has been boosted to 1.6g. Its maximum speed is limited to 380 km/h. The progressive new design language underlines the inner values of the new super sports model the same time as forging a link with Bugatti鈥檚 rich coachbuilding heritage of bodies built to its own design and installed on existing chassis. All 40 cars in the strictly limited series, with a net unit price of 鈧? million, were sold immediately upon the start of presentations to selected customers. The Divo is to be produced from 2019 onwards together with the Bugatti Chiron at the brand鈥檚 headquarters in Molsheim, Alsace.
This is a mid-engine sports car which means that the engine sits in the center of the car, behind the driver. The 718 Boxster gets a 2.0-liter boxer engine with a six-speed manual transmission that produces 300 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. It'll also get you from zero to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds and boasts a top speed of 170 mph. For a little more capacity and kick, go with the Boxster S which comes equipped with a 2.5-liter turbocharged boxer engine with variable turbine geometry and a six-speed manual transmission that creates 350 horsepower and 309 pound-feet of torque. This engine can make the jump from zero to 60 in 4.0 seconds and offers a hair-blowing top speed of 177 mph. Enjoy the new Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen and optional navigation. An instrument cluster with a 4.6-inch color screen will keep you aware of the Boxster's performance data and display a map when you need it. You'll be surrounded by leather and Alcantara materials with an interior that's a perfect combination of sport and luxury. The Porsche Side Impact Protection System (POSIP) uses specially designed doors plus two airbags on each side to protect the driver and passengers in the case of impact. Other safety features include a tire pressure monitoring system and emergency brake assist. Now Porsche owners can enjoy the classic Porsche racing design with all of the innovations and upgrades of the 2019 model year.
The term 鈥淪peedster鈥?is one that鈥檚 unique to Porsche and has come to mean a convertible, performance-oriented version of one of its vehicles. Up front, the 911 Speedster looks more like a conventional 911, but there are a few differences. The windshield has been shortened, as have the side windows, which gives the car a lower-looking stance. Instead of a powered soft-top, it鈥檚 manual to further save weight. Porsche will also offer a Heritage Design Package on the Speedster, which adds Platinum Satin paint, start numbers and decals to the doors, unique 20-inch wheels, black brake calipers and white paint accents. These changes are designed to emulate older Porsche racing vehicles, and buyers have the option of customizing the start number on the door. This is a very handsome car, especially with the top down. Under the hood, er, I mean rear engine cover, is a 4.0-liter flat-six out of the 911 GT3. That engine is good for 502 horsepower and 346 pounds-feet of torque, as well as one of the most ear-pleasing soundtracks found anywhere in the automotive world that will only be enhanced by hearing it with the top down.
There will be only one transmission, a GT Sport six-speed manual (as God intended). Porsche claims a zero-to-60-mph time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 192 mph. Underpinning the 911 Speedster are a slew of components from the GT3, along with a rear-axle steering system and dynamic engine mounts. Twenty-inch Satin Black center-lock wheels come standard, as does a carbon-ceramic braking system. Speedster models are usually limited in production (the last Speedster was only 356 units in an homage to the 356, the first Porsche roadster), and the latest 911 Speedster is no exception. Only 1,948 will be produced worldwide, and there鈥檚 no word yet on how many of those models will be earmarked for the U.S. As you may have guessed from those details, the 911 Speedster will be anything but cheap. 275,750, including destination charges, which is quite a chunk of change even if the car is set to become an instant collectible.
