As far as weight goes it's about power to weight ratio and torque to weight ratio. Neither of those help with braking and turning, they only help with acceleration and top speed. The adaptive suspension I was talking about would be more akin to the active suspension that Formula 1 outlawed in the early nineties. 50k truck is gonna have F1 style suspension. Telsa's suspension tech is nothing to write home about, and competing against Porsche in this area is a fool's errand since the latter has so much more motor sports experience with racing chassis and suspension.
It was just an automatic tilting of the car during it's turns. With modern technology that would be easier. Also it was outlawed because it made driving the cars to the limit super easy and also raised what that limit was. There could still be more than the SpaceX option package that the Roadster and possibly other Tesla vehicles will have that could be considered unfair. What you are mentioning is already implemented in other cars in one form or another, active suspension is super common these days. The new 911 even has electric sway bars that move around during cornering to compensate for weight shift. Other than the SpaceX package (which is no way street legal), there is nothing Tesla can do that no one else鈥檚 seen, look up the crazy things all the super cars are doing these days. 100k, that alone makes this a fantasy. I'm thinking the truck should be able to surpass the F-150 in the way they said it would. That should be pretty straightforward, make it more useful. But if they can come close to a base 911 that should be pretty impressive enough. If they can make good on that promise, that would be the surprising bit. Completing the soft-top 911 line-up was the Speedster, which revived a charismatic model from Porsche's past when it arrived in 1989, the name previously having been applied to that most stylish of the many Type 356 variants. The idea of a new Speedster had first crystallised in 1983 with the development of an ultimately stillborn prototype. Porsche's president, the German-American Peter Schutz, revived the project in 1986, knowing that such a model would have great appeal in the United States market. A prototype based in the 911SC was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1987, but by the time the production Speedster arrived, the 911SC had been superseded by the Carrera '3.2'. Three options are present on this stunning example. Delivered in July 1989 our car here has had three owners from new. We acquired the car in 2006 and have continued the service and record keeping duties going for the car while exercising it regularly. The paint is all original on all surfaces. Glass is all original. The engine bay is quite tidy, as is the front trunk area when you remove the carpet - it looks factory fresh. With nearly 48K miles showing on the clock, this Speedster has no current mechanical needs and drives wonderfully.
