Bruce Anderson 911 Porsche Blog

My qualifications include extensive "Hands On" experience with Porsches. I have been working on Porsches since 1962; 911's since 1966. In the winter of 1966-67 some friends and I bought a half a dozen engines that were badly damaged in a shipwreck off the Azores. New 911's were being transported by sea, the ship was rammed by another, the hold flooded, the cars broke loose and the bodies were unsalvageable. But we were able to buy the engines. 911 engines. I was able to put my education into play as a member of a winning race team. We won the prestigious Porsche Cup, Porsche Team Cup, IMSA GTR, GT, and GTO championships along with the FIA World endurance championship. As Technical Advisor, Porsche Club of America, and Technical Editor, Excellence Magazine, I write an ongoing technical Q&A column as well as feature articles for these publications. Excellence Magazine also publishes my series of ongoing articles entitled "Porsche Market Report". This series reflects on the market value of various Porsche models. Additionally, I sit on the Advisory Board of N.A.D.A. Exotic, Collectible and Special Interest Cars. Many articles I have written deal not only with Porsche technical information, but on all aspects of interest to Porsche enthusiasts including coverage of events such as the annual Porsche Parade, Speedsterfest, La Carrera Panamericana, Daytona and Le Mans races.

This model ticks all the right boxes and is available in front wheel drive for the first time, it gives all the looks of a 4x4 but the drive is as smooth as any on road car can have. It has a roomy y interior and loads of boot space. The CR-V is available in 2.0-litre petrol and diesel Honda engines. Mazda 6 is a very well built car with a slinky look. It is very well equipped, even the entry level TS trim comes with climate control, cruise control and many safety features. The drive is great and the price is affordable. Toyota Auris: Auris is not the only car making in the list by Toyota. The second generation Auris has a different look (in a good way) than its predecessor. It is also offered in hybrid which gives an edge over its rivals like Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra Tourer.

Porsche 911 GT3 R racecar, this is believed to be the road-going 911 R which is expected to use the engine from the 911 GT3. The attached image has reportedly been confirmed to be authentic by a customer who actually placed an order for the car. As a matter of fact, the 911 R is believed to have reached sold out status already, even though we are still likely a few months away from the model鈥檚 proper reveal. This is without any doubt yet another special edition 911 and it鈥檚 likely based on the facelifted version (991.2 model) and according to sources close to Stuttgart they plan on making just 600 cars. The six-cylinder, 3.8-liter normally aspirated engine develops 475 bhp and 438 Nm of torque in the aforementioned 911 GT3, but Porsche could decide to bump its output a little bit for this special edition. More importantly, the model could eschew the dual-clutch 7-speed automatic gearbox in favor of a manual transmission and if this is true, purists will probably say this is the best 911 in a long time. An official introduction could occur in March 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show and the price will obviously be substantially higher compared to a standard 911 GT3. Source: Porsche 911 R leaked?

Buying a Porsche 911 classic from the 1963 to early 1970's production years is the desire of many classic car collectors and Porsche enthusiasts. There are some very nice, well-maintained examples out there, as well as some that would be great for restoration projects. Mechanically, the Porsche 911 is the next generation from the classic Porsche 356 and is renowned for featuring a rear engine and for being air-cooled. From its inception back in the 60's, the Porsche 911 classic has made a name for itself in the racing, rallying and automotive competition circuit. In fact, the original 911 series is often noted as being one of the most successful competition cars ever, especially when its variations 911E, 911T, 911S are included. Looking to purchase an classic Porsche? The process of finding the right Porsche 911 classic can sometimes be quite a long process, and separating the poor quality cars from the viable list of options can require many trips and inspections.
