Visit Mark Dreyer's homepage! The Nsx was a beast of a car faster then my r8 which had a tune and it handled better. Car was ankle hiigh off the ground. Once you start driving German cars its hard to compare the ride and feel to other cars. Nothing was wrong with the Nsx at all, just not a German car, but a really good car. Traded for my panamera and forgot how good a car Porsche makes. Since I have had many fast cars, more interested in feel and handling, does not have to be lighting fast anymore. I still think best balanced car I ever owned was boxster. This will be just a weekend and summer car. Might track it once in a while. I drove a 911 maybe 5 years ago and thought it felt a little big. I had my panny out today and the thing was really rock solid at well over 100 mph. Like molten lava down the road. Found a Mexican blue 2013 911s cab fully loaded, low miles.
Might be fun to try a 911. Have never driven a spyder and I like a stick, but here in ny, always a lot of traffic. Whats a fair price for that car? Last edited by Taxdr1965; 04-07-2019 at 09:02 PM. I think there is consensus that the Spyder is more exciting - but a specific experience. I don't want to be combative but lets not forget that the Spyder doesn't get anything remarkable over a base Boxster in terms of suspension. This is why you have to be so careful on the internet. People are clueless. The Spyder has X73 suspension as standard, which inludes upgraded shocks, ARBs, and srings which deliver the best street handling Porsche has ever conceived. It's perfectly set up in terms of spirited driving dynamics and on cars that it was an option it cost more than PASM and is considered more driver focused. I had a 2016 Spyder and now a GT4.
While the GT4 may withstand more track use, I find the X73 the far better choice for anything you can do on a road. I also have a 991.2.S with PDCC and RAS. In the 911 you have to have far more driving aids to get anywhere close to the Spyder, and still you fall short of that midengine corner speed and the confidence you have to ram it into corners. I've also owned a total of 6 Boxsters and Caymans, 3 of which had X73. The non-X73 cars weren't anywhere close. This is why you have to be so careful on the internet. People are clueless.
