Mercedes-Benz CLA has been with us since 2013, and replacements for both the four-door coupe and Shooting Brake will be launched next year. A host of new-age CLA prototypes have been spied testing throughout the year, so we knew they were on the way. However, a product road map published by the German automaker as part of its Q3 results has confirmed when the duo will launch. It is the CLA four-door coupe which will arrive in dealerships first, just before mid-2019. Deliveries of the Shooting Brake will then commence in the third quarter of next year. CLA family will take clear design inspiration from the latest A-Class. Consequently, its front fascia will incorporate sharper headlights, a revised grille and new air intakes. Further alterations will be made to the vehicle鈥檚 rear, but it will still resemble the CLA many fell in love with. Beyond confirming the new CLA models, the Mercedes-Benz product roadmap reveals that the GLC and GLC Coupe will go through a facelift during the first half of the year. Shortly afterwards, the German brand will launch its revised GLS.

Another report has emerged confirming that Porsche is developing a new supercar, above the 911 GT2 RS, to compete against the likes of the Ferrari 458 Italia and the McLaren MP4-12C. The new car would be larger than the current 911 but would be priced between the range-topping 911 variant and the 918 Spyder. Porsche CEO Matthias Mueller in an interview with a German newspaper. Muller said the future model would be priced between 鈧?50,000 and 鈧?00,000. Muller did not relate any details on what such a model would look like but it will surely be larger than the 911 to compete with supercars such as the aforementioned McLaren and Ferrari models. Porsche is considering engineering a flat-eight boxster engine for its Ferrari-rivalling supercar, company bosses have admitted. At the first unveiling of the new 991-series 911, Wolfgang Hatz, Porsche head of Research and Development said such an engine was 鈥榩ossible鈥? He told Autocar: "We have to go into that market properly equipped.". Porsche engineers have long been frustrated by the fact that the company鈥檚 iconic flat-six engine cannot be extended much beyond 4.0-liters. It鈥檚 also felt that in the Ferrari-dominated market, eight cylinders are a pre-requisite. Moving to a larger engine would also differentiate the new model from the new 911 and next-generation Cayman range. It鈥檚 thought that the creation of such an engine has been made easier by the engineering working currently being done on the new turbocharged flat-four engine, which will be offered in Porsche鈥檚 planned entry-level roadster. This all-new motor is thought to be modular, allowing it to be extended into the next-generation flat-6 and a flat-8. Hatz also said that a development of the Carrera GT鈥檚 ultra-compact transmission could be used for the new model. Such a transmission would free-up space for the use of the longer eight-cylinder engine.

This is the last time my Porsche Boxster S will stay inside the Porsche Showroom with its older brothers. Today, I had instructed QAF staff that I would like to have my car sent back to my home while we are still waiting for the freaking "Bluecard" to be registered! Talk about efficency from the Land Transport Department! Hopefully it will be done tomorrow and I can get the car registered ASAP as my wedding are closing in! Today is the first time I actually drove my car! I am so speechless after driving it from QAF to my home. It's about 20 mins drive and let me tell you two main features of the car that really impressed me in my very first drive. First is the exhaust noise and secondly the short shifter! New license plate attached at front bumper! Daytime LED driving lights activated on the Porsche? Honestly, I was expecting the Boxster to be smaller then Skyline but I was wrong! Not too sure about the width yet but once I sat inside the car it feels as big as the Skyline ER34 too! One thing thats for sure is I felt very close to the ground sitting inside the driver seat, which is good! Check out the interior. Metropole Blue roof can be seen here.
