Parts Information:

The Battery Maintenance Sheet can be ordered through our Parts Department, downloaded from e-DCS, or copy from the Battery Maintenance

Sheet.

Part Number Description

PNA 000 132 A Battery Maintenance Sheet - Sports Cars

Required Tools:

Electrolyte tester, battery tester, battery charger and trickle charger.

Work Procedure:

1. Vehicle Delivery

Upon delivery of new vehicles, a Battery Maintenance Sheet must be issued for each vehicle in which the charge condition of the battery is

noted.

The following measured values should be noted:

- Specific gravity of the electrolyte in g/ml for battery cells 1 - 6.

- Voltage in Volts (battery disconnected, measured after 1 hour at rest).

- Ambient temperature in 锟斤拷C (锟斤拷F).

The further procedure is determined by the table shown.

To ensure good measuring as well as charging results, the minimum temperature of the battery must be 10锟斤拷C (50锟斤拷F). Where the ambient

temperature is below 10锟斤拷C (50锟斤拷F), the battery or the vehicle must be placed in the workshop/heated room for at least 12 hours. This will

ensure a uniform temperature within the battery. The measuring values for the gravity of electrolyte of the individual battery cells should not

deviate by more than 0.03 g/ml from each other. If this is the case, the battery must be charged and subsequently retested. The results must be

noted on the Battery Maintenance Sheet.

If the specific gravity of the electrolyte in the individual battery cells should again differ by more than 0.03 g/ml, the battery must be

replaced. The battery test as well as the documentation (also see Battery Maintenance Sheet, top left) must be repeated at the following

intervals:

- 1 month, when the battery is connected.

- 3 months, when the battery is disconnected.

- 7 days for demonstration or exhibition vehicles (additionally connect trickle chargers during idle periods).

2. Vehicle handover to the customer.

As specified in the sales check, test the charging condition of the battery. The results of this battery test must be noted on the Battery

Maintenance Sheet. The charge condition of the battery must be at least 80 %.

The completed Battery Maintenance Sheet must be filed with the sales documents and a date must be noted as to when the vehicle was

handed over to the customer.

3. Additional details in the event of a complaint after vehicle delivery.
