Simple Ways To Care For Your Audi
Owning and driving an iconic car such as Audi is really something that you can be proud of. This German brand has risen to fame worldwide due to its outstanding engineering, powerful performance and high ride quality. However, to preserve its sophisticated look and impressive performance, you need to make every effort for its care and maintenance. There are some preventive maintenance measures you can do at home to prevent spending huge for an Audi garage. Even when it comes to your prized possession, remember that the saying "prevention is better than cure" applies. One of the things that you can do is inspect the buildup of dirt and debris under and around the wiper blades as these may cause scratches on the windshield, which may not be easy to get rid of. What's more, these can also impede the wipers' function, thus leading to visibility issues. If you notice that any of these blades are coming off their place or do not wipe off traces of water, then it's about time to have them replaced.
Refer to the manual when doing this. To preserve the showroom-look of your car, it is also critical to give it gentle, thorough, and regular cleaning by a using the right tools and solutions. Start by washing the tires to be followed by the panels. When drying the car, use a micro fiber towel or a synthetic chamois. Begin drying at the top and continue downward in a back and forth manner to avoid marks on the surface once it dries up. Doing a DIY car maintenance in Dubai can literally save you lots of money by maintaining the look and performance of your car, as well as preventing any issues in advance. However, admit it or not, nothing beats the outcome of a professional service carried out by an Audi Repair Center. No matter how you care for your vehicle, bear in mind that there are some things that are beyond our control. This is why when you notice a problem with the mechanical or electrical system or the car has dents, you need to entrust it with a reliable car garage in Dubai. No one fixes these issues better than a professional.
The worst that will most likely happen with a failed caliper rebuild is a leak which you will discover quickly! Because you will be pulling the wheel after a short trip around the neighborhood at slow speeds to check for any seepage. Jack up the car, remove front wheel, and caliper. To remove a caliper see my article on rear brakes for the Mercedes R107. The removal of the front is identical. Click here to view article. Once the caliper is removed, inspect it throughly along with the rotor for any abnormal wear. If the caliper appears damaged or worn in any way, or is heavily corroded, it is highly recommended that you purchase a new ATE caliper from an after market Mercedes shop or from Mercedes-Benz. The ATE calipers are available new and rebuilt. Once you have determined that all is in excellent condition, the next step will be to remove the two pistons from the caliper. To do this, shop air (compressed air) is the best way as shown in the photo. WARNING: The caliper contains a fair bit of residual brake fluid and will dispense with force during the piston removal process.
It is highly recommended to place the caliper in a container and cover it with a rag. This job should also be done away from other vehicles, people, pets and painted surfaces. Brake fluid is very corrosive! Wear eye protection and gloves! Place heavy cardboard, cloth or thin piece of wood between caliper halves. Remember how the pistons came out. They must go back exactly the same way. This is critical in order to get proper brake wear. Inserte shop air nozzle in to brake line hose, and gently inject air. Both pistons should eject with considerable force. DO NOT have fingers in-between pistons when removing鈥攊t's painful! If both pistons do not eject the use of a screwdriver will be required. First, remove the dust cover, and heat shield (front calipers only), then gently pry piston out by placing the tip of a flat head screwdriver under the lip of the piston, and working around the entire edge until removed.
