The Fastest SUV In Segment





With the new Cayenne out in the market, the automotive world is expecting its most powerful version. The 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo will follow it soon and we already have the most information about the performance-tuned vehicle. It will be one of the fastest models in the market since it will stop the clock at 3.7 seconds for 0-60 sprint. Also, its top speed is higher than for some exotic sedans. The improvements for this version are obvious. The 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo will add more power compared to its predecessor. However, it will still be far behind a custom Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk and its 850 hp output. Maybe the next Turbo S could be a step closer to this monster since the next model will go above 600 hp for sure. We are still waiting for updates about the possible hybrid version of the SUV. Under the hood of the 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine.





This unit is capable to produce 550 horsepower. As said, it is a 30 hp improvement from the previous edition. But outputs still falls short from SUV鈥檚 Turbo S version and the monster of this segment Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. The new Porsche Cayenne Turbo 2019 also adds 14 pound-feet for total 567 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that transfers power to all wheels. With this setup, the 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo can sprint to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. However, additional packages and features can make it go faster. Sport Chrono set will drop the 0-60 mph acceleration to 3.7 seconds. It is even better than the current Cayenne Turbo S can do (3.8 sec). Max speed is set to 177 mph. The new 2019 Porsche Cayenne is bringing the new design solutions for the entire squad. So, the Turbo model is coming with refreshed front fascia where we find new headlights and a modified grille. Unique tires are wrapping 21-inch wheels. Special PSCB brakes are standard on the 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo (optional for base and S trim levels). Of course, there are also other upgrades in drivetrain sector, such as suspension, air brakes, and spoilers. All these features are making the Cayenne Turbo more aggressive and a better performer. The luxury is never in doubt with Porsche. But, the Turbo version of Cayenne raises everything to new levels. Sport seats and steering wheel are heated. Premium leather is wrapping all seats. Front seats are now offering 18-way power adjustable positions. Navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Traffic Update are all standard for 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. It鈥檚 arguably the best looking, it feels fast, and, of course, has the angriest exhaust note. Zero to 60 takes just 3.8 seconds and top speed is listed all the way up at 176 mph. The Cayenne Turbo S is fast - faster than anything else here. That鈥檚 what happens when a vehicle has the most power, most torque and lowest curb weight. At the heart of this performance is a 4.8-liter turbocharged V8 engine making 570 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Like the other two vehicles, it鈥檚 paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine produces a good, classic V8 burble under hard acceleration. With the exhaust button engaged, the Cayenne is louder than the X5 M, but nowhere as noisy as the raucous SVR. It鈥檚 probably a more fitting overall engine note for this class and does feature a few pops and burbles when decelerating. And the performance doesn鈥檛 end with the engine; every other mechanical component is dialed in.





Scroll through the three drive settings to engage sport plus mode. Here, the Cayenne feels the most connected to the road and is the best in the comparison. For an SUV, it鈥檚 surprising how quickly and confidently I can hustle this nearly 4,927-lb lug around twisting back roads. The massive brakes, measuring 16.5 inches up front, are quick to react. Combined with the wide 295-mm tires, the Turbo S is almost grabby in how fast it wants to stop when the brake pedal is depressed. If driving the Cayenne Turbo S on hardcore mode at all times isn鈥檛 your thing, it can be altered through various preset drive modes or completely customized through individual functions like the suspension and transmission. It鈥檚 also got an adjustable ride height like the Range Rover, but one ups the Sport SVR by offering three manually lockable differentials. But equipped with the sport tires, the Turbo S isn鈥檛 well suited for serious off-roading.
