A More Aggressive

A More Aggressive

The entry-level convertible from the fine folks at Porsche has been re-engineered from the ground up for the 2013 model year. The resulting next generation Boxster has a longer wheelbase and wider track, yet manages to weigh less than the outgoing model. This, of course, aids performance as well as fuel-efficiency. The new base Boxster is powered by a 2.7 liter flat-six delivering 265 hp - ten more than the previous model. The Boxster S model ups the ante with a 3.4 liter engine with 315 ponies. The improved fuel efficiency should come in around 15 percent when final figures are released. To my eye the new bodywork is a subtle step up in design language. A more aggressive, muscular aesthetic manages improved aerodynamics as well as fitting better with the car鈥檚 personality. The interior rework follows along with the cabins of the new 911, Panamera and Cayenne in style and layout, and looks like a great place to spend time behind the wheel. Overall I am very pleased with the work of the folks at Porsche AG. This new Boxster will no doubt be a huge success.

The factory paint was very soft and was easily marred. Areas which were not machine accessible were done by hand. There were some water marks caused by water collecting and drying on the engine cover. Very hard to remove as the area had to be corrected by hand. And also under the paintwork of the engine cover. There were also some water marks on the inlet manifold. Some last minute touch-ups. The interior was also given a quick clean with Optimum Opti-Clean. Scuff marks on the leather? The paint was given an IPA wipe down to ensure the surface was completely clean before it was sealed with Optimum Opti-Seal. Check out the gloss and definition! Glass surfaces were also Opti-Sealed. After allowing the Opti-Seal to cure for a few minutes. A layer of Optimum Car Wax was applied for additional protection. Check out the gloss and depth of the paint! Just the reflection of the roof. Same condition as the GT2 before we started. Some final reflection shots of this awesome ride! Many thanks to Mun for his invaluable assistance on this detail. Couldn't have done it without your help. Do check out his blog to view his post on this GT2.
