The lack of an engine and transmission tunnel allowed Jaguar designers to move the cabin forward, increase interior space, lengthen the wheelbase, and shorten the overhangs relative to a vehicle with a conventional driveline. The vehicle has mid-size crossover proportions, with a length of 184.2 inches and a long wheelbase of 117.72 inches. In addition to the cab-forward design, the I-Pace features a steeply angled windshield, the maw-like corporate grille, the brand's characteristic haunches over the wheels, and large 23-inch wheels. Aerodynamic considerations such as shaved door handles create a fairly slippery 0.29 coefficient of drag. Jaguar calls the I-Pace a performance SUV and claims the electric powertrain makes it capable of a 4.0-second 0 to 60 mph run. The suspension, as well as a low center of gravity from the battery placement, should make it handle. Jaguar says the I-Pace's center of gravity sits 4.7 inches lower than that of a conventional crossover. The suspension features double wishbone front and an integral link rear design. The integral link is a multi-link design that allows engineers to tune both the longitudinal and lateral stiffness. It is used in the XE and F-Pace. Inside, the I-Pace has slim bucket seats, a central touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, burl wood trim, and a Meridian sound system. A panoramic sunroof features a lozenge-like pattern during the day and LEDs that illuminate the patterned glass at night for a unique visual effect. Without a transmission tunnel, the center console has a spacious 8 liters of storage space. The rear cargo hold has 18.7 cubic feet of space. We spoke to Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum and asked how close the I-Pace is to production ready. He said it is 95 percent of the way there. Things that may change include the wheel size, the addition of folding rear seats, and the interior trims (especially the seat fabric).

The Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster have been praised for the balance they offer with the new turbo-four, but purists and enthusiasts complain that the four-bangers just don't sound good. For those sound-obsessed buyers, Porsche will have the Cayman GT4, a hardcore track-oriented model packing six-cylinder power derived from the 911 GT3. That car has been spied testing once again, and this time our shooter caught it with its drop-top sibling, the Boxster Spyder. You won't need to get a microscope to see the changes made to distinguish the 718 Cayman GT4 from the rest of the lineup. The most prominent giveaways are the side air vents, a slightly taller lip spoiler, and the split dual exhausts. This particular GT4 is also sporting a different rear wing that looks slightly taller and with wider trailing edges than on previous prototypes we've spotted, hinting that there may be different aero kits available for the next 718 Cayman GT4. Peeking from behind the alloy wheels appear to be optional carbon ceramic brakes. The 718 Boxster Spyder following the Cayman GT4 wears many of the same design elements in back, including the split dual exhaust tips and the taller lip spoiler. Unlike the Cayman GT4, the Boxster Spyder doesn't have a stanchioned rear wing. The biggest give-away that this isn't your ordinary Boxster is the manual soft top and engine tonneau with molded fairings that stretch all the way to the back of the seats. Power for the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 and Boxster Spyder is expected to come from a version of the naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six found in the 911 GT3. A six-speed manual should remain as the only available transmission. Porsche hasn't said much about the Cayman GT4 and Boxster Spyder, but expect it to gain more power and torque to distance itself from the GTS models.

The battle for electric car supremacy is starting to really heat up now that established automakers are joining the fray. As Audi details in this behind-the-scenes video looking at the crossover's gestation, the e-tron had one of the most expensive development programs in Audi's history. Not surprising considering the vehicle represents the start of the transition away from internal-combustion engines to electric motors, not only for Audi but also its Volkswagen Group parent. The e-tron is the German auto giant's first electric car designed from the ground up to run on electricity, so the development team were under tremendous pressure. Thousands have been involved, working over a period of about four years and in four different continents. The video above provides a vast number of insights into the development program, including a look at the production process of the battery and electric motors. Interestingly, the e-tron's plant in Brussels, Belgium, is the first electric car plant where the batteries are assembled alongside the cars they will power. The e-tron made its debut last fall and is due in showrooms in the second quarter of 2019. There's already an online reservation system set up if you'd like to be one of the first to take delivery. Normally, the e-tron will operate in rear-wheel-drive mode, with the front motor only adding power when needed. Audi says the e-tron will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 124 mph. And when properly equipped, the vehicle will also be able to tow 4,000 pounds. The range is estimated at somewhere between 200 and 250 miles on a single charge.

This Porsche 356B Super Cabriolet was built on December 14th of 1961. It was delivered new to Hoffman Motors in New York. The car wears black paint over a red leather interior with correct German square-weave carpets, Coco mats and headrests. The car was fitted with a period Blaupunkt radio, Hirschmann red-tip antenna, deluxe horn ring, chrome 5.5-inch wheels with crested hubcaps and a fresh set of radial tires. The car was given a full professional restoration to show condition. The work was performed between 1990 and 1992. The car was stripped to bare metal and repainted using the correct German paint, the interior was completely redone and the air-cooled engine was rebuilt and fully detailed. A front disc brake conversion with dual master cylinders, using the bolt pattern that allows B wheels to be mounted, was installed to aid drivability. This car was awarded a First in Class award at the Porsche Club of America Nationals in 1993 and a Peoples Choice Award at the National 356 Registry Concours that same year. In 2010, this Porsche 356B Super Cabriolet was offered for sale at the Gooding & Company Auction held in Amelia Island, Florida. 104,500, inclusive of buyer's premium.
