EPROM data faulty or parameter set not programmed



Fault code 8



This fault is stored in the following cases:



1. The control module is faulty.



2. The control module is not correctly programmed.



Elimination:



Delete fault memory, disengage reverse gear and switch off ignition. Then switch on ignition, engage reverse gear again and read out fault memory.



If the fault reappears, check that the vehicle type is correctly coded. If the coding is correct, replace control module.

Fault code 9



This fault is stored in the following cases:



1. The control module is faulty.



2. The control module is not correctly programmed.



Elimination:



Delete fault memory, disengage reverse gear and switch off ignition. Then switch on ignition, engage reverse gear again and read out fault memory.



If the fault reappears, select menu item Coding and check if the vehicle type is correctly coded.



If the coding is correct, replace control module.

Corrosion of ground points



Elimination:



Inspect the ground points for corrosion.



Clear fault memory.

NOTE:



- The fault memory status (present/not present) is always updated when the motor Is running.



- Fault code 8003 is recorded in the PCM2 MMI if the operating buttons are actuated for '>= 1 Min.'.



Possible cause of fault



- Battery voltage too low less then 9 V for greater then 30 sec'



- Battery voltage too high > 16 V for > 30 sec'
