Steering-Angle Sensor
Steering angle sensor actual value is evaluated and displays an implausible value.
Steering angle sensor up until MY 2002 with 4-pole plug
NOTE:
- As of model year 2003 a new steering angle sensor with 6-pole plug is installed.
- When troubleshooting follow the relevant work instruction, since the pin assignment has changed.
Diagnostic conditions
- Steady forward speed on curves and straight ahead at no less than 20 km/h
Possible cause of fault
NOTE: This fault may also be displayed in the event of faults with the running gear setting.
- Steering angle sensor calibration incorrect
- Short circuit to B+/ground or open circuit in control unit circuit
- Steering angle sensor incorrectly installed
- Steering angle sensor faulty
- PSM control unit faulty
