Wheel Speed Monitoring



The fault is stored if the average speed of one wheel differs by at least 5 % from the speed of the other wheels for longer than 20 s or if one or more



wheels are controlled for longer than 60 s.



Diagnostic conditions



- Vehicle speed > 20 km/h (for at least 80 s)



Possible cause of fault



- Incorrect tyre pressure or wheel size (collapsible wheel, spare wheel)



- Play in wheel bearing is too large



- Toothed ring/pulse ring is soiled or damaged



- Incorrect or faulty speed sensor



- PSM control unit faulty

NOTE: If other faults in the PSM are indicated, then remedy these first.

The fault is stored in the event of continual control operations, that is under extreme driving situations, e.g. snow-covered circular paths, icy roads,



constant braking etc.

- Vehicle was in an extraordinary operating condition
