GPS antenna short circuit
Diagnostic conditions
- Ignition on
- PCM2 on
NOTE:
- Actuating the operating buttons for '>= 1 Min.' results in a fault code 8003 being recorded in PCM2 MMI
- Deactivate the 'automatic traffic announcement' before performing the diagnosis on the PCM2. If this is not done, the diagnosis will abort.
Possible cause of fault
- Short circuit in the antenna wiring from GPS antenna on PCM2 to ground or B+
- GPS antenna faulty
- Navigation module faulty
- PCM2 faulty
NOTE:
- The MOST optical waveguide is connected to the following control modules:
- PCM2
- CD changer
- Amplifier
- Telephone/telematics
