Information:
Below is the official statement from Porsche Cars North America, Inc., regarding possible inquiries which may arise from computer hardware and
software systems on Porsche cars at the year 2000 date change.
Porsche is aware of this problem and has seriously considered the potential for industrial disruption impacting our customers, our company, as well
as our suppliers. Thorough investigations and early development work have been conducted by Porsche engineers in concert with our suppliers, and
this has enabled us to rule out all such influences on the electronic vehicle equipment of our models. Porsche and, all of our suppliers, confirm the
electronic control units relevant to passenger safety, as well as all other electronic systems, have been investigated. None of the processing
computer chips use, contain or store temporal data and therefore will not cause difficulties with respect to the year 2000 date change.
We trust this information may be helpful should a customer have concerns regarding the Year 2000 date change.
Please inform all dealership personnel accordingly.
