718 GT4 BASE PRICE

718 GT4 BASE PRICE

View Poll Results: What will the Base Price of the new 718 GT4 be? It will be a % over the GTS. I just don't think the price will be that high. 92k is my guess. GT market is soft and the last thing they want is a 997 era uptake on these cars where some will be sitting on lots. Plus with dwindling 718 sales, they got plenty of production room to fill it in with all the GT4 orders they can take. This could be possible. Or they are 911 disciples and want those to pay a penalty for encroaching onto their perceived "kool-aid" territory. Last edited by ExMB; 06-15-2019 at 06:20 PM. 2400 final to North America. I believe they only stopped production as the transition to the 718 on the production line was imminent. High demand and relatively low MSRP resulted in ADM in many markets. 2. The price of the Speedster.

Porsche seems very intent on pricing to market and absorbing ADM into corporate profits. 3. The price increase of PTS. 1 huge factor was due to the lack of manual transmission in any other GT car. Dont think the high price of the Speedster was due to dealer ADM. However the higher volume might be. Are you saying that Porsche used cars are competing with new cars simply because they both have an MT6 ? 1 huge factor was due to the lack of manual transmission in any other GT car. GT3 guys bought the 981 GT4 because at the time there was no other GT car with a manual. 911R was the only one and that was crazy limited and nearly all were only available to the 918 Spyder VIP program. Now the GT3 and GT3 Touring and Speedster are all available with a manual.

Well, I live in GA, and havent know stealers here to be any worse than elsewhere, especially in the NE or on the Left Coast. Maybe there are two carmakers named Porsche, but the one I have been observing for many years has not surprised me, even once, by pricing ANYTHING cheaper than anyone expected. If the new one is significantly better than mine, it will be even more significantly expensive. Really dont care, either way. If I go for more power, theres plenty to be had with what I have for a lot less than the price differential. Maybe there are two carmakers named Porsche, but the one I have been observing for many years has not surprised me, even once, by pricing ANYTHING cheaper than anyone expectedl. Hmmm. I can't speak to your expectations, but I can make a cogent case for several examples of "cheaper than expected pricing" coming from Stuttgart.

5000 less than 94 911. If that was all there was to it that would be remarkable. Surprised the hell out of me. 136k, no? Vs. 115k for GTS and 98k for S? Way more upcharge for a GT car on the Carrera platform than on the Cayman platform. Porsche could have sold every single GT4 at 99,900 MSRP (and probably a bit higher) yet they priced them at 85k. Surprising, to say the least. RS America. Cheaper than 964 C2, yet today they go for considerably more. A special 964 at reduced money? Didn't see that one coming. Porsche could have sold every single GT4 at 99,900 MSRP (and probably a bit higher) yet they priced them at 85k. Surprising, to say the least. Porsche as well. I don't think they expected to sell so many GT4s. By that argument the GT3 should've been priced higher as well to maintain the hierachy.

Don't see anybody agreeing to that point. GT3 guys bought the 981 GT4 because at the time there was no other GT car with a manual. 911R was the only one and that was crazy limited and nearly all were only available to the 918 Spyder VIP program. Now the GT3 and GT3 Touring and Speedster are all available with a manual. The 991.2 GT3 is at a very different price point so I dont think that will have a significant impact on the new GT4. Oh, and there isnt a GT3 Touring model. As Im sure you are aware, its an option which is only available with a manual. No, I'm not arguing that pricing will be lower than 981, if that's what you mean in your post script. I'm saying only that Porsche has occasionally surprised people by pricing something "lower than expected." I don't think anyone expects 718 MSRP to be the same or lower than 981 MSRP. As for my personal opinion, I think the GT4 MSRP will jump much, much more than the 718 GTS or S MSRP did above 981 S/GTS. My statement was just for historical perspective, not a prediction of what I think Porsche will do with 718GT4 pricing. GT4s would have been sold if the 2014/2015 GT3 had been available with a manual transmission?
