White, Silver, and Black? I will never own another Black car and you will never own a Yellow car, but I can appreciate a nice White, Silver, Black (every once in awhile). Goodwood, 4.0, 420 ps, manual only to start (PDK later). Multiple year production run. Multiple year production run. If it hasnt some sort of slightly more exotic GT3 motor, then all we are all eagerly waiting for amounts to a 29bhp bump and a bit of a bigger wing. And by the sounds of it no need to panic about allocations - might even be better off waiting until later production runs for PDK and whatever other in-series tweaks Porsche may make. The longer this waiting and speculation goes on, the happier I am that I bought a 718 GTS early on. So far European delivery with four weeks in Europe, a bit over 5000 miles, second set of tires, about to go on my second set of brakes and a number of DE and autoX days.

Having the car for a second season in the States just makes the wait so much easier and maybe even better. Personally, I thought the wait might be one year but after all is said and done, I might be waiting three years if and when I get delivery of a 718 GT4. Hell, at this point I could probably even pick up a nicely discounted 991.2 GT3 if I was so inclined sometime next year for the price of a new GT4. Can't say I am unhappy about the wait. Certainly theyre not cheap, but theyre much lighter and stronger then cast wheels. Of course. A lot of OEMs do factory forged now for performance cars so it's almost moot. I believe stock GT wheels are forged right? At least the 991.2 are best I can tell. Of course. A lot of OEMs do factory forged now for performance cars so it's almost moot. Preuninger says the GT4, in particular, is at least 10 seconds a lap quicker around the Nurburgring relative to its forebear. Helping the model achieve this feat are major aerodynamic advancements, including a large underbody diffuser that makes 50 percent more downforce than the last GT4鈥檚. Wheels and tires carryover and the car鈥檚 lightweight 20-inch alloys wear the latest Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires measuring 245/35 up front and 295/30 at the rear. Additional performance enhancements include the Porsche鈥檚 latest torque vectoring setup, a mechanical limited-slip differential, new dampers, and more. The suspension includes active dampers and the ride heights for the GT4 and Spyder are some 30 millimeters lower than any other 718 model. The cars also pinch elements from the GT3 parts bin. Specifically, the top mounts鈥?solid, ball-mounted joints. Porsche鈥檚 GT department stuck with conventional suspension bushings elsewhere in order to maintain a good (i.e. smooth) on-road driving experience. Nevertheless, these are track-oriented vehicles first, and track rats will welcome the cars鈥?adjustable toe, camber, and roll bar rates. Most buyers will probably avoid breaking out the tool kit, though, and will instead simply press the Sport button to stiffen up the adaptive dampers. Additional dynamic tech includes an automatic rev-matching feature and access to the Porsche Track Precision App, which lets drivers geek out on lap times and the like. Options include lighter and more fade resistant carbon-ceramic brakes, lighter bucket seats, and plenty of individual trim options. 1,250 destination charge). No, they aren鈥檛 cheap. But given their six-cylinder engines and notable performance capabilities, the latest Cayman GT4 and Boxster Spyder strike us as relative bargains.

Porsche has debuted the new 718 Cayman GT4, and for the first time, the racing car comes in two versions. One version is a pure competition version explicitly designed for national and international motor racing. The second version is aimed at the 鈥渁mbitious amateur鈥?racing driver and is a 鈥淭rackday鈥?model. Porsche says that on the new GT4 Clubsport it put lots of effort into fast lap times and sustainable use of raw materials. One of the significant features is that this is the first production race car to have body parts made of natural-fiber composite material. The driver and passenger doors along with the rear wing are made of agriculture by-products including flax or hemp fibers. The material has properties similar to carbon fiber in terms of weight and stiffness. Both the GT4 Clubsport flavors see the return of the 3.8L flat-six engine making 425hp, a 40hp bump from the last version of the GT4 Clubsport.
