World's first introduction to the BMW X5's new iteration was back in year 2007, short after that, it became so hot favourite among its owners. It was more powerful, refined, luxurious and slightly bigger car than the one it replaced. Back in year 2000 - when the original X5 was launched - for BMW, it was the start of a new era. The launch of Mercedes ML two years prior to X5's, proved company's claims of inventing the segment, a bit untruthful. On the roads, the ML was not as good as the BMW, so X5 became the class leader. Now-a-days, most of the cars sold in UK are powered by the diesel engines. The new X5 is just 15kg heavier than the previous model. The other changes made to this model were sculpted bonnet and larger head lamps. The pleasant surprise in X5 was that it became 287kg lighter than its rival, the Audi Q7. It was all made possible by using thermoplastic for the front wings and, aluminium for the instrument panel, suspension arms and the bonnet. Increase in length of X5 was carried out to provide some extra space for the third row seating.

The BMW has discarded the MacPherson struts front end suspension and fitted in the double wishbones suspension, aiming to ensure that the X5 stays the first choice in SUVs. An active steering system and adaptive anti-roll bars can also be fitted. For those, who want to extend their X5's abilities for superior off-road experience. BMW's xDrive system, the default bias of front/rear 40/60 can be altered to a 100 per cent rear or front according to the situation and need. The automatic gearbox comes as standard as the manual gearbox is not an available option now. The eight speed automatic gearbox is very smooth and shifts quickly without losing the power. In year 2010, new BMW X5 diesel engines were launched. These engines include the xDrive30d, xDrive40d and the xDrive50di. There was a power upgrade to xDrive30d, which now produces 245bhp while the sprint to 62mph trimmed to 7.6 seconds. This engine was putting the combined cycle economy at 38.2mpg and CO2 emissions were just 195g/km. The BRZ is a light car so it is easy on its brakes and tyres. Insurance is not cheap and servicing costs can be on the expensive side. Make sure to get the ETCo offer from Subaru. Resale values are strong for the BRZ. The BRZ will not be a mass produced so it will be a rare car. The Subaru BRZ is the first rear wheel drive car by the manufacturer. Although it lacks power but the handling is excellent. It lets itself down by having an average cabin quality and low-rev power. However, it has good handling along with frugal engines. The good looks really make it stand out from other cars on the road.
