Based on the Volkswagen Group's B6 platform, the new A4 debuted in the year 2000. A4's new styling was inspired by the Audi A6, but it claimed huge success. Most of the petrol engines; either had a power upgrade or the displacement increased, but the base model's 1.6-liter engine remained intact. There were two versions of 1.8-liter turbo with 20-valve engines available; a 148bhp and a 178bhp, these engines come with standard six-speed manual gearbox. The naturally aspirated 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder and a 2.8-liter V6 engines were replaced by the 2.0-liter and a 3.0-liter all-aluminum engine with 217bhp and 300Nm of torque. The 1.9-liter TDI engine had an upgrade and received 128bhp and Pumpe Duse technology and permanent quattro all-wheel drive, whereas the 2.5-liter V6 TDI received 178bhp and quattro as a standard. Rear to front dynamic torque distribution ratio was of 50:50 in this generation, it also was equipped with Bosch ESP 5.7 system, brake assist, anti-lock braking system and electronic brake-force distribution. In year 2002 the 1.8-liter TDI engines received a power upgrade; a 148bhp engine became 161bhp, and a 178bhp engine became 187bhp engine. All of these engines were available with quattro.





There was a 2.0-liter engine which was available with Fuel Startified Injection (FSI). Audi took a huge step a year later and reintroduced Audi Avant S4, only this time it was powered by a monstrous 4.2-litre V8 engine with 339bhp, and A4 Cabriolet convertible, this time it replaced the 1998 discontinued Audi Cabriolet. It featured and electro-hydraulic operated roof which can be lowered within 30 seconds, and the lower bumpers and sills were also body-colored giving it a new style. Audi has the honor of introducing a new gearbox named as multitronic which was actually continuously variable gearbox and was developed by LuK. It replaced the old-fashioned automatic gearbox on front wheel drive vehicles, and was praised by the automotive press. It eventually proved itself to be the world's best gearbox due to the promptness in response and being light weight. There are two engines of 2.0-liter; a 134hp and a 148hp 4-cylinder 20-valve FSI.

The Jaguar E-Type is one of the icons of automotive design, and British company Eagle has made a business out of restoring, upgrading and building their bespoke versions for the last 30 years. It does for the E-Type what Singer does for the Porsche 911 - takes an already great classic car and updates its mechanicals for the modern age. The firm's latest creation, the Low Drag GT, might be its greatest ever, at least according to editor Henry Catchpole in Evo magazine's latest video. The car takes its inspiration from a trio of low-drag E-Type coupes built in the 1960s, but thoroughly modernizes the concept. The engine is based on Jag's inline-six, but made from aluminum and bored out to 4.7 liters to produce 346 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque. Catchpole says it's enough to propel it to 60 miles per hour in about 4.5 seconds. The body, transmission and differential are all also made from aluminum to cut the weight to 2,288 pounds, and modern upgrades include Ohlins dampers, AP Racing brakes and even extras like concealed GPS navigation and an Alcantara headliner. There's more head- and legroom than the originals, too.
