2-seated Sports Car

The Lamborghini 400GT is a follow-through of the successful launching of the first Lamborghini sports car, the 350GT. Motoring enthusiasts got their first glimpse of the Lamborghini 400GT in the 1966 Geneva show. 2-seated sports car, compared to its predecessor, has increased power of 320 bhp (239 kW) coming from a larger engine of 3929 cc (240 c.i.). The Lamborghini 400GT has a vastly improved drive-train after Porsche-style synchromesh was adopted in all its gears which incorporated a Lamborghini-designed gear box. There are several variations of the Lamborghini 400GT. Twenty-three of these smaller 400GT variants were manufactured sporting the four-liter V12 engine of the Lamborghini 350 GT, with three having aluminum bodies. There was also a one-off version of the Lamborghini 400GT called the 400GT Monza supposedly ordered as an American racing entry for Le Mans. All in all, 247 units of the Lamborghini 400GT were manufactured from 1966 to 1968, after which it was succeeded by the Lamborghini Islero.

To everybody's surprise, the newest Lamborghini comes from Argentina. ALAR is the name and it has as base the old version of Diablo V12. The official distributor of the Lamborghini brand in Argentina could create his own line of models, using the Italian brand. Apparently an Argentinean by the name of Joan Ferci has somehow acquired exclusive rights to build custom Lamborghinis that retain the Italian marque's historic name and feature an official badge of the raging bull on the front end. He's created a pair of models in the past called the Coatl and the Eros GT-1, both based off of the Diablo. The Alar 777 will be the third model produced off of the Diablo platform and debut on March 30th in Buenos Aires. Indeed, the car seems to looks like something we would get from Too Fast Too Furious or perhaps Need For Speed Underground, which may seem to the Loyal Lamborghini fans a little less appealing. But thinking at the fact that we are talking about the Diablo V12 motor, we can still state that this is still a pretty cool car after all.

There are many things you could say about the Rolls-Royce Dawn. That鈥檚 where the Goodwood-based automaker revealed the Aero Cowling - an add-on to the Dawn that transforms it from a four-seat cabriolet to a two-seat roadster. The modification involves fitting what Rolls-Royce calls a tonneau cover, but actually sits in front of the teak rear deck under which the folding roof mechanism stows. Instead it covers the rear seats with a leather and carbon-fiber cowling to give the drophead coupe a sportier look. The question is whether that鈥檚 a good idea or a stupid one. And for our part, we鈥檙e not exactly sure what to make of it. Rolls-Royce isn鈥檛 the first automaker to carry out such a transformation, even in the modern era. Porsche, for example, has been known to delete the rear seats and cover up the extra space with a similar cowled deck, turning the 911 Cabriolet into the 911 Speedster. The Dawn Aero Cowling does one better in that it adds extra storage compartments. And from what we can tell, it appears to be removable, too - turning the convertible back into a four-seater again.
