CG Says: The 2019 Porsche 718 Boxster is essentially unchanged. The 718 Boxster is a premium 2-seat convertible sports car that was significantly revamped for 2017. Porsche also sells a hatchback-coupe variant of the Boxster dubbed 718 Cayman (reviewed separately). The 718 Boxster鈥檚 base engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter flat four developing 300 horsepower; the sportier S is powered by 2.5-liter with 350 hp or 365 hp in GTS trim. All offer a choice of 6-speed manual or 7-speed automated-manual transmissions. The 718 Boxster may be the 鈥渂eginner鈥檚 Porsche,鈥?but it鈥檚 no less a thoroughbred than the costlier 911 models鈥攅ven though purists might argue that the new turbo fours don鈥檛 have the same mystique as the Boxster鈥檚 previous sixes. Though its mid-engine layout compromises passenger and cargo space somewhat, Boxster is surprisingly practical, and its road manners and mechanical sophistication will delight the most discriminating driver. While most rival sports cars offer superior power and a much better features-per-dollar ratio, they typically don鈥檛 match Porsche鈥檚 brand cachet and high trade-in values. Be careful when selecting options, though, as checking just a few boxes can send prices quickly skyward.

For superior strength and rigidity, the bar utilizes 聯X聰 braces on both front and rear sections and each joint has been meticulously TIG welded by hand. Bolt-in installation is accomplished by using Inner Diameter Tube Clamps that are CNC turned and milled for a precise fit. These unique joints allow us to eliminate the more traditional slip fit tubes with an unsightly through-bolt and nut. OEM fit & finish. Finished in satin black powder coat. I just received my new 2019 MY Porsche GT3 RS two weeks ago. This was a new addition to my stable and not a replacement of my HP. Based on media reviews, the HP and the new GT3 RS are definitely the best naturally aspirated "track weapons" one can buy today. That being said, I can tell you after 500 km in the GT3 RS that the Porsche is not in the same league as the HP in terms of driving experience. The only things that are better in the Porsche are related to comfort and visibility. Oddly, it also attracts more attention but it is likely due to its flashy color: lizard green. Aside from these positive elements, the sound, the finish, the design, the transmission, aerodynamics, etc. are not in the same league as the HP. However, I am not disappointed at all considering the GT3 RS will be my daily driver and the driving experience is still amazing in comparison with "normal" sports cars. But when I want the "real thing", I still go for a ride in my HP. That's an awesome combo to have. GT3 RS for daily driving and Performante for weekend driving. Jeez, I would guess that to most people the GT3 RS is for weekend driving and here you are using it as a daily. GT3 is too much for the street. May I ask how straightforward it was to get your GT3 RS? Did you have to pay ADM, did you have a good allocation, did you have to wait a while? Was your taking delivery recently due to having a later build or did you buy it used?
