An Overview Of Audi A4 B7 Engine Lineup 2019-2019

The Audi A4 B7 was the revised edition of the A4 (internally known as B7). TheB7 line made its debut in 2004, and the 2008 marked the end of production. The 2.0 litre TFSI petrol was changed to Fuel Stratified Injection (FSI) technology and the power output was also increased to 197bhp. Another addition to the A4 petrol engine range was the 3.2 V6 FSI with 252 bhp. Both of these units boast a four-valve per cylinder design as the outgoing five-valve design was not compatible with the FSI technology. The diesel range of A4 B7 engines was also updated. For the very first time, the 2.0litre TDI was merged with Pump Duse (Unit Injector) technology with 16 valves. A 3.0litre V6 TDI diesel engine replaced the 2.5litre TDI V6 and offered 201bhp; it was further upgraded to 230bhp in the following year (2006). A 2.7 V6 TDI was also added to the Audi A4 B7 engine range later.

Audi kept offering the T-2 based permanent 4-wheel drive (Quattro) option for almost all of the A4 models. The German manufacturer's all new Getrag six speed gearbox also made its debut in B7 engines, replacing the five-speed manual gearbox. The CVT automatic gearbox was still an option for front-wheel drive variants; however the Quattro four wheel drive versions were equipped with a convention six-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The high performance S4 from the B6 generation carried over to the S7. In addition to that, it brought back the Quattro GmbH- designed RennSport, the Audi RS4, with high revving and naturally aspirated 4.2 litre V8 FSI engine. It was the first time this engine was placed under the bonnet of a saloon or Cabriolet body. A limited edition A4 DTM - inspired from Audi's 2004 race cars - was launched in mid 2005 and then re-launched in the next year as a regular option.
